Nice game by the U.S.

Did well on the avantage that Costa Rica wasn't on their best condition, and gave a good game. The way it should be done, unlike your beloved southern neighbor.

Kasey Keller is a ****in legend!! I had to leave at the 75th minute cause me and my girl are havin problems so how did the match end. Did the Costa Ricans continue to karate chop Beasley? Did Hejduk execute one of his legendary stepovers or did he do one of his patented two footed tackles?

Yea, Kasey Keller stood on his head. Brilliant performance.

Some asshole (the guy from Chivas i think) went in studs up on Cherundolo. And then after getting a red card proceeded to talk **** to Cherundolo while he was down. Pat Noonan was just like, "get the **** out of here" and pushed him away.

DaMarcus Beasley is a beast........ and you can tell he doesnt dive at all he just gets hammered real hard.......

this guy is the future for the US...... he just needs to drink sum more milk or sumthin so he doesnt get wrecked so much.........

Well the national team ever play a WCQ at Giants stadium in NY?????? im pretty sure they can get a real good crowd out around here.........

The game just a couple of months ago vs. Guatemala was a better performance than this one IMO. The 6-0 drubbing of Panama comes to mind too.

This is a good sign though - we comfortably beat Costa Rica even though we had a couple of key players missing. Let me put this another way: we beat Costa Rica 3-0 with Bobby Convey playing left mid. I don't think we have anything to worry about.

My player grades:

Keller - 9 (He's proving he's not a step down from Friedel)

Cherundolo - 7 (Good game for him)
Pope - 7.5 (I had started giving up on him, but solid game)
Bocanegra - 6.5 (I still think he needs to get better)

Zavagnin - 7 (another good game)
Convey - 6 (he's not bad enough to be sitting for Reading, but not good enough to be starting for the US)
Ralston - 6 (Not the answer at right mid... someone else needs to step up)
Donovan - 8.5 (That's what I'm talking about!)

Beasley - 7.5 (He wasn't 90%, he was 110%)
Wolff - 7 (Not bad but has to start scoring)
McBride - 7 (mostly mediocre game but scored one goal and forced another)
