Sven opting to go with the 4-5-1. Carragher looked uncomfortable at right back against Sweden so hopefully Hargreaves can do a job there with his versatility. Carrick starts his first game in the hold with Rooney as the lone striker. The jury will be out on that, Rooney in my opinion is better playing off another striker and dropping deep into the mid-field to get on the ball.

Well, he has got the right setup for Lampard n Gerrard in the middle, they need a holding mid for it to work.

To be fair Toon, season before last when RVN was out rooney did a hell of a job as the lone man, with united going on an incredible run. Looks good to me aslong as rooney gets the support.

Well Crouch seems confident that he's playin longside Rooney, lets hope hes wrong. I'll be surprised if Carrick plays as Sven seems to think Carragher and Hargreves are better Holding Midfielders, although nearly the whole of England disagree. Hargreves didn't look comfortable at right back against Belarus (i think).

Hargreaves looked great as holding midfield against Sweden. He's a much better tackler than Carrick is.

Ha, i've never seen Sven play that tactic with those players. I don't think it will happen. He wont move Hargreaves from midfield and he'll stay with Carragher. The guy is a wuss. I think he will go with Crouch upfront and Rooney playing just off him.

Completely agree with you. Put his foot in unlike Carrick.

Carragher needs to support Beckham more.

Ecuador's defense has been rock solid while England's game lacked creativity. Based on these impressions I don't see how people can predict high-scoring wins.

It's going to be even hotter out there tomorrow. It's about keeping the ball and making Ecuador do the work. Carrick is good at that. All the tabloids, the BBC and ITV seem to think Hargreaves will play RB hence my line-up.

I'm confident we'll win but it wont be the high tempo exciting game the neutrals are after.

I'm really nervous about this match Ecuador has look way above average in this world cup and We've been underperforming so far. I just Hope Rooney and Crouch duo works out for us, I just dont want to see us in a situation where we need to put Walcott in the game, well maybe if we are up 3-0 Sven could finally show the kid.
