Nobody has actually "complained "about the ref at all yet as according to #71. All comments about the ref so far have been tongue in cheek and humourous. If you dont see the humour, then it got lost in your translation or something.

As for the English media, they are actually calling this team SH.IT. So i dont see the overconfident arrogance that has been suggested there.

But why not be confident anyway. Is there something wrong with that? I've watched England too many times over too many tears to know that we are due to come to life. Apart from Owen missing we, for the first time have our first choice team, so if its gonna happen it will happen on Saturday. If it doesn't happen, then we get beaten. So what. Big deal. Does your life end when your team gets knocked out? Mine does not. People take this s.h.i.t much too seriously. Thats all part of youth I guess. Get a wife and a couple of kids, and you will see the World Cup drop way down the list of priorities in your life.

Just lighten up though fellas (on both sides)please, and lets see if whoever wins on Saturday, we can come in here and talk about it relatively calmly. I know I'm the worlds worst guy for arguing here sometimes, but I'm gonna try my damndest to respect Portugal whether we win or not. May the best team win thats all anyone can ask for.

And try to see the funny side to some of the posts made. Dont take them at face value. There is humour and sarcasm in there too........... :ewan:

you should have added: do what I say, don't do what I do, at the end of your post because we all know you have ALWAYS the exact opposite behaviour you mention.

See there i was attempting to allieviate the tensions and good ol' Virgin has to carry it on. I didn't disrespect Portugal in the other thread at all. I said that your team, NOT THE COUNTRY as a whole, were a disgrace to the World Cup. Your team didn't need my help to lose any respect mate, they did that all on their own.

I am hoping that this time they will show more class and behave more like professional sportsmen and less like thugs. I believe they will be better behaved so dont get your knickers in a twist over it pal.

Oh and smile you miserable bloody sod......... :rofl:

oh shut up, you saw the opportunity and jumped on the bandwagon, to have a go on Portugal, it's that simple.

We commited a grand total of 10 fouls in the game vs Holland. If that's acting like thugs I sincerely hope we outdo ourselves and up that number on saturday. By the way the last portuguese player sent off iin an international game was in 2002. I bet we have been thugs in disguise all these years.

You're a f*cking hypocrit anyway, I've seen nothing from this team like for instance the brutality of Essien's tackles this season or Robben's playacting, and I don't see you complaining about those.

the spanish players obviously were taunting and abusing them as seen in the video.

and it's completely different to tackle someone who was supposed to give the ball back like Deco did (not even close to some of the tackles in that video) or headbutt someone because they kicked him while in the ground like Figo did.

you hypocritical bastards.

well, the portuguese lost their temper against Holland 'coz a dutch player intentionally injured a portuguese player and was not sent off... not to mention the "ball back" situation...

After reading all of these seven pages I'm of the opinion we can already hand the World Cup trophy over to the English as they have the world's best player in every single position. Furthermore they deserve the Fifa fair play award for the next three decades.
Oh and they also have the most quiet and peaceful bunch of fans.
