What happened was Ulysses made one comment. Andremc11 gave him some abuse for making such a comment. Ulysses then proceeded to make the comment again for the second time. People started laying into Andremc for standing up against some rather inappropriate comments, almost defending Ulysses.

No. He went ape**** in response to Matt, night and Ulysses, and it escalated from there. Escalated not being the best term because he was being aggressive all the time. I've gone back and had a look at the whole mess, and it's just such stupid bull****. Ulysses called the trumpet-using primitive, by the way, not South Africans. I think that's harsh, but I can understand him because they're ******* annoying as hell. andrewhatever was attacking people from the start and was actually being more racist than anyone else, I think. He told Ulysses he doesn't have a right to comment because he's from Macedonia, and the Polish comment was just ridiculous. I could go back and quote all the posts he made and highlight the stupid **** he said, but it's pointless and we're here to discuss footie.

If he's banned, then Ulysse (or whatever his name) should also be banned. Or at least be yellow carded. You ban Andremc for that "SKI" think but no action when Ulysse says "Africans are primitive"? Seriously, there must be some fairness. If you ban Ulysse just like you banned Andremc, then its fair. You can't ban someone simply because you don't agree with what he said.

EDIT: I saw that Bobby, Keegan, theo are moderators here. Where the hell is Bobby?! Haven't seen him posting since ages. Theo and Keegan post here once in a blue moon but I hope they're at least coming here from time to time to see how things are going. Mods should be more active IMO.

The Nazi guy didn't actually do anything wrong in terms of what he's done and he's been less confrontational than most members. So while everyone wants him gone, you can understand the grey area that the mods encounter there.

And pretty much everything you've said has been based on your misinterpretations of what has been said. Either read the posts properly or refrain from posting, otherwise you're just stirring **** up for no reason. We don't need better moderating, we need members to stop overreacting to every goddamn post.

I appreciate him a lot for his contribution and commitment to SG. He's the best poster on SG. But when was his last post? I haven't seen him post since like 4 months. I'm not saying anything against him at all, he has every right to have some months off SG. But there needs to be others to do the job in his absence!

EDIT: Maybe the mods come here but don't post. Thats fair enough as long as they do their job. I'd like to see Bobby back though. SG's not the same without him.

The ONE serious rule here is racism which was at least touched upon by Andre. The only other real rules are against **** like porn, spam, post boosting, multiple accounts, and warez.

Seriously, there's really only one rule. Technically "verbal abuse" counts, but it has to cross the line to ridiculous "internet tough guy" stuff where you threaten to track someone down and kick their ass, or "prejudice" which, btw, was touched upon by Andre.

Yeah he's just being an annoying prick. I know its hard to create a rule for people like that. Strict rules would definitely spoil the forums. There should just be a fair balance though.

appreciation for what ? they should be greatfull for having the honour to host such a big event in these conditions, and considering their arrogance and stuborness when asked to give up to this primitive behaviour of blowing in trompets and annoying milions of football fans then I think the anthipathy towards them is justified

If people in my country were doing something similar to guest nations for the whole 90 minutes of each match, I'd be embarrassed for the minority who are constantly annoying the sh*t out of the rest of the world and call their behavior primitive and stupid. It has nothing to do with race or country but yet people pull out the race card and make bigots out of others annoyed by the vuvuzela.

On another note, the troll's response to my post was in fact offensive and the only reason why I did not make a big deal out of it and bother responding to him is because this is the internet and there's no point in arguing with people like that as it generally leads to nowhere. It's like trying to argue on YouTube so I let it go until the admins spot it out and deal with it.

Everything you've said in your last few posts has already been touched upon and explained. Also, all this **** about the mods needing to do their job is based upon the wrong assumption that they aren't. The forum is run fine. Shifty explained this well enough for me not to have to, but you're just gonna ignore whatever it is you're gonna ignore and rehash the same faulty arguments.

I don't want to act like Newbie or whatever, I don't give a **** if some people post nudity here. I just brought this up as an example. If this guy doesn't get a temporary red, just shows that moderators aren't doing what they should. Why are the rules there in the first place?

EDIT: Back in 2003-2005 I remember these forums used to be very well moderated. You weren't even there at that time. I can recall someone being banned for simply calling a Pakistani "Paki". It was run better when Tom and Bobby were around. I'm not the only one who think so btw:

Many years ago (when I was a regular for a brief while) it was common to see temporary yellow and red card punishments here. In contrast, if the "Banned" for andremc11 means a plain perm/indefinite ban I agree it seems a bit too harsh...

There have been many inappropriate comments that if said to someone's face would of resulted far differently, yet seem to be tolerated here.

But getting back on topic the vuvu craze seems to be dropping. With any luck by the time the knock-out stages are reached they will be far more acceptable.
