WC Matchday 17: [GER v ENG] + [ARG v MEX]

On that second goal the Mexican keeper looked like a 50 year old in a dad's league. Convinced Ochoa would have saved it.

2-0, unbelievable mistake but well, Mexico it's playing upset since the steal of first goal, the refferi ruins the game!!!

it seems to be either good refereeing and dull matches (as in the first round in group stage) or good matches and crap refs... and I'm not even sure which I prefer

Good thing Mexico is known for putting away their chances.

I'm not surprised, though. I should be used to the round of 16 exit by now.

the linesman in the earlier match today was doing exactly what he was supposed to be doing, and that is being in line with the last defender to be in position to make an offside call ... so of course it was going to be difficult for him to make a definitive judgment on a goal-line incident -- which is why extra officials or even technology is being discussed ...

but this was a bad call because it was a blatant offside that was missed ... having reviewed the incidents, I think this was the first case of bad officiating from the refs/linesmen for the day ... EDIT: and what could Roberto Rosetti possibly be discussing with his linesman after having given the goal?

Well, the game it's warming up, mexican players has right to be angry but will lose by far if keep playing like that, but i don't blame 'em, logical reaction when steals you like that.

That's exactly why it makes it so infuriating. He was clearly offside, yet instead of admitting they were wrong at first, they decide to just go ahead and keep the botched call regardless.

I wanna see what happened with the sideline brawl, Maradona trying to get his group away from the Mexican players. I'm afraid the refs have lost control over this one, I don't completely blame the officials, they all know they ****ed up, they can do little about it seeing as FIFA still lives in the stoneage and won't allow decisions to be influenced by video replays. Even the cameramen are gettging bashed, Gabriel Heinze FFS.

Mexico need to come back and play their game like nothing happened, they were on top of this game prior to those goals.
