Congratulations to Germany. Heading into this game, I said that their defense hadn't faced a true test. Well, Argentina didn;t test them the way I thought they could.....they made an effort for a while but just couldn't come close to keeping it up for the 90 mins.
And Argentina's own defense was found wanting....like everyone knew. They fell apart after the 2nd goal.
There were several opportunities to send Otamendi off. He deserved a 2nd yellow. Muller didn't deserve a card at all.
IMO, Messi has been played out of position with ARG. The next coach needs to copy EXACTLY what Pep Guardiola does with Barcelona, in terms of how to play Messi.
Oh, and Real Madrid just wasted their money on Di Maria. He's a bench warmer and nothing more. Unless Mourinho pulls a rabbit out of a hat, the guy will be useless at the Bernabeau.
Well said. Agreed.
It's a real shame that Muller will miss that game. He was possibly the man of the match in this game against ARG, with a goal and a brilliant assist on the 2nd German goal.
I would have loved to see him run right through Xabi Alonso.
