What is "Current Fifa generation" and "Next Fifa generation" ? Everybody talks for this generations but what did they mean? What's the difference between this gen.s and so on ?

This usually happens when new machines are launched. In this case "Current gen" would be Playstation 2, Xbox and lower spec PC's. "Next Gen" refers to primarily the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 (and to a lesser extent the nintendo wii)

Therefore the difference is quite large due to the step up in cabability of the new machines.

PC's will probably continue to be "current gen" with the "08" version of the game as well....because EA has to take into account the people with lesser PC's....they just won't even be able to play a watered down version of the new game engine...so they will continue with the current game engine...

It would be a big shock to me if EA brought the "next gen" game engine to the PC for FIFA 08

they better. The latest PC hardware is already faster then PS3 or 360.

That's exactly why they won't. Most people don't have the "latest" hardware.

I think this is not a big problem. In current games with can choose your grafics settings (low, high etc).
They can make the high configs for next gen and the people that choose low details will play with lower grafics (more current gen).

Unfortunatly fifa08 will be current gen.:nape:

I am not really upset because of this because i won´t probably buy fifa 08 unless Ea can make an Ultra realistic gameplay.:)

I have everything that i want in fifa 07 (great patches, gameplay, thousands of stadiums and faces, sound packs etc):mexican:

Actually I think because of the next gen game engine (have you seen the 360 graphics) I dont think most older hardware could even play a watered down low res version...the engine is just too new....and of course EA always screws up the PC version anyways....remember when this year's game came out all the problems with high end video cards and jerky game play....imagine with higher requirements! ahh!

I think the answer to that one is simple - multi-core, and therefore threading. EA will not release the next-gen version for the PC until a large enough proportion of the machines out there are capable of running the engine at an acceptable speed, and that means they will need to be at least dual core with a separate (ie. not onboard) GPU. My guess (which I believe I've already made here some time back) is that it'll be FIFA 2010 before we see the next gen version for the PC, because big companies like EA tend to err on the side of caution when it comes to decisions that might affect their bottom line.

The shame of it (at least for those of us that keep as close to the bleeding edge of PC technology as is possible on a limited budget) is that porting the game from the Xbox 360 is probably a relatively trivial task (certainly in comparison with a lot of the other ports)
