Youth Team
Hi there,
I'm making a gameplay patch for Fifa 2003 and it's working out pretty good. You can download a copy of my new beta version soon. First beta is allready downloadable (link is at the end of this message).
I'm pretty satisfied with the general AI of the cpu at the moment, but the problem is that I haven't got the time to make individual AI-files for all the teams and the players at the moment. It just takes a lot of time to make and test them. That's why I'm posting this thread.
I'm actually searching for people that want to help making individual AI's for players and teams. So if you know something about football (that shouldn't be a problem normally ) and you want to help making some AI's for this patch, please let me know.
This is all you need to know to make some AI-files:
- you need to know how the players you're going to edit, play: how often does he dribbel, pass, make a special move, is the player an aggressive tackler or not, ... These kind of things.
- you must be able to type
- the teams or players should be in the original Fifa 2003, add teams can be given an AI too, but I'll not add custom teams to this patch. If you really want to edit the AI on those teams, you can add the files yourself afterwards (I'll explain you how than). It's just: an add player can have an ID in somebody's game, whereas the same ID can be used by an other add player in somebody else's game.
So if you want to edit some AI's (for your favorite team for example), please let me know. I'll send you some files which you can edit in notepad, together with some explanation how to edit the files and some examples (it's very easy so everyone is able to make AI's for a team, I'll explain what to do). Afterwards, send the files back to me and I'll add them to the patch, easy as that
This way, I'll save myself a lot of time and their will be more teams in it for everyone to enjoy!
BTW, I don't want to USE you guys to make my patch look great or something and run away with all the honours. NOT AT ALL! I just want to have a patch with as much players and teams in it as possible. Those who don't like my gameplay may not be interested in making AI's for this patch, and I understand this completely. Everybody's opinion should be respected, but those who like it, would love to see their favorite players play in this patch like they do in real life I think, so that's why I'm posting this thread. I just figured, this way, everyone has only a little bit of work to do and we could make a great patch with a great number of players' and teams' playing styles included. Also, I'm not rivalising with other gameplay patchers (like gante, sameer, sepakbola). I have great respect for all the people out there that are trying to make the game better and more enjoyable. I even want to coöperate with them to make the best gameplay possible. Just want to make the game better, for me, for you, for everybody. Let's say that I'll send all the AI's I recieve to Sameer, Sepakbola, Gante, ... too, or whoever wants it so I'm not getting the profits of your work alone. I just want every patch to be better. If I think Sepakbola's patch is better than mine, than I'll install that one and I'll try to make mine better, you see? I really don't want to be competitive. (Well, competitive, but not in a bad way) I'll give credit to everyone that helped creating AI's for a team! I'll release the patch under some common name like 'Universal gameplay patch' or something. I really don't want all the credits!
The first beta version is allready downloadable for you to judge. It includes a new shooting system, but I'll eventually release two final versions with and without the new system, so don't resign just because of the shooting system. You'll be able to have a normal shooting system too eventually. The new shooting system is also being tuned and will be better in the final version I hope.
Just remember: if a team is good in real life, it means there is a good balance between the players. Workers, creative players, passers, dribblers... Try to express that balance in your AI-files for the team. If you think that making supermans out of all the players and make them do special moves all the time will make your team play better, YOUR WRONG! Make it as close to the real thing as you can!
Oh, here is a link to the thread where you can download my patch. Also read the information on the shooting system maybe. It explains why the lobs are so low.
So if you're interested and wanting to help on this patch, please reply. If there are many positive reactions on this thread, I'll explain how I'm going to organize this and you can start editing than
Remember: you don't have to know sh*t about computers or programming! Everyone can edit 'ini'-files in notepad!
Hoping for a lot of replies. I'll be back tomorrow
