Everton are expected to officially confirm the sacking of Walter Smith this morning, and are reported to be lining up David Moyes as a replacement.

Moyes as a clause in his contract which allows him to speak to premiership clubs if they require his services. However there is slight twist to this.

Smith will receive over £1million in compensation to cover the remaining 15 months on his contract.

WTF, I thought Everton had financial difficulties, funny how they give £1million to a manager which has made Everton worse from when he took over.

they are doomed already, Moyes has too much work to do to keep them up, i think they should re-coup in the first division like Man City are doing now and return a much more positive and better side.

they may still have a chance if they stick with him but without him they are certainly going down... i always feel sorry for teams that go down but with the exception of everton of course... :D

LOL i agree ... sorry jon82 but i think everton are in serious trouble now... i thought that their better players might leave if the go down but they dont have any better players :p :p :D

Everton might stay up if Arsenal win the title before the final day, but Everton will always have to live with the fact that eiother they stayed up courtsey of Arsenal fielding their reserve side or Arsenal's reseves relegated Everton.:crazyboy:

1. Everton still have 9 games left
2. Everton haven't been OFFICIALLY regegated yet!
3. Everton has a history of 'Whenever we get relegated we are straight back up the following season!'

Everton are already doomed, Walter Smith has finished his demolition, its too late for Moyes. Walter Smith was good at Rangers, only because that league only had 3 decent teams and he had allot good players at that squad, he has not impressed me since he came in the EPL. His Tactics are very poor, he plays all his players out of position all the time(he played a defender upfront once), and he can't motivate players. His body language is always negative, he is not energetic at all. The best Everton player by far is Thomas Gravesen, and he did not even play him. I don't know what happened behind the scenes, but whenever he plays Everton play some decent football. He goes out and buy Ginola and it took him 3 games to fall out with him.

David Moyes is a great Motivater, and he will be a great manager one day, but I don't think he has enough time to keep them up. It took time for him to build up a good young Preston squad, that were unlucky to lose in last years Division one play off final against Bolton. Anyway I hope he is there for the long term aswell.

Everton are no more a 'big club' like the old days when there were up there with Liverpool. They have been in the relegation battle for years, if they get relegated it might be good for them in the long term, escpecially now they got David Moyes.

funny they only been relegated twice, and the second time they went down (1951) it took 3 years to get back up.

Everton look doomed

he nearly took Preston into the Premiership, who had won the 2nd division a year earlier.

Moyes, 38, is one of Britain youngest managers but is a hot prospect.

from what is going on now i don't see you guys going down.. but this weekend match against derby is one of the most important match... if you guys lose it then you will be in deep trouble...
