Vote for the top 10 greatest managers forever and ever

I don't get why everyone loves Fergie so much. Rinus Michaels, for example, did more than him in far less years.

I saw a lot of Van Hanegem on Dutch tv and newspapers the last couple of years, debunking the myth of Michels over and over. Players decided the system and style of play among each other, not Michels who was just lucky to be around for an incredible generation. Thought that was interesting and sort of demystifying. One journalist said that at a dinner with Cruijff and another player whom I forgot, they said that had they listened to Michels they wouldn't have won a game, haha. I think this is how a lot of great players feel about their managers though.

Van Hanegem was talking about World Cup 1974 and ''total football''. The Cruijff anecdote was with another Ajax player, I think it was Keizer. Van Basten, Gullit, Rijkaard, Koeman explains Euro 88.

In that case, Cruyff is the greatest manager of all time for managing Ajax in the 60s, and bringing up the 80s generation on his return to Ajax.

Well, yes, he's arguably the all-time greatest football mind, both as a player and a manager. We'll never know the exact inside workings of those teams, but I enjoy these undermining sneers towards Michels. Most great Dutch ex-players seem to undermine the influence of the manager. Wim Kieft, part of the Euro 88 championship squad, pretty much finds it all nonsense as well, haha.

The Rule of Two: "There can only be two Sith at any given time -- a Master and an Apprentice. This is to guarantee that when the Apprentice becomes powerful enough in the ways of the Dark Side to take the title of Master, only then would they be worthy of the title. This transfer of power would only take place when the Apprentice takes their Master's life and finds a worthy student to repeat the cycle."

Michels, Cruyff; Cruyff, Pep ...

Pep is a weak master. He will see the fall of the Sith and it will take years before a worthy master rises up again.
