hi people ; i need your advice on something ; iam thinking on buying an ati radeon 9600 xt ( this is the highest i can go with the money i have) ; but heres tha thing; i need to know from somebody who has this card on how high can i go on resolution with this card playing pes3 "smoothly" because i read on a another thread that a guy who has this same card is having slowdowns even on 800x600; if this is true than ill be ripping my self of spending 200 bucks for a card that it wont run my favourite game smoothly at a really high resolution; because rigth know i have an ati radeon 9200 128mb ddr an the only way the game runs smoothly is precisly at 800x600 but the graphics look pretty freaking ugly; i really need help from you guys making a good decision on what to do cause i dont want to throw my money away.

this are my specs right know; keep in mind this are going to be my same specs when i buy a new videocard; and keep in mind i want to run my pes3 on 1280x1024 smoothlty.

my specs:

abit IS7 motherboard
pentium4 2.8 ghz
384 mb Ram
onboard soundcard ( realtek AC97 audio )
Ati Radeon 9200 128 mb ddr

lol, dude u don't have to make another thread...........
well, according to your system specs the card is more than capable of just running PES3 /WE7I smoothly cuz i think you could even play at high res..e.g 1280x1024 with AA or AF turned on....
well, make sure also that yer using the Pes.exe v1.0 cuz based on opinion i think that the official patches by KONAMI creates slowdown 4 most Ati Card...so,... good luck!!!

ive had my 9600xt since feb and im totally satisfied with this card. play near enough every game on max res except far cry which is on the settings under the super high 1's. max res the card can give is 1600x1200 :) best advice is go get it and you wont be dissapointed.

If u want to use 1600x1200 u have to get a monitor that supports that resolution(mine only supports up to 1280x1024)...........oh yeah, big Al,...what 9600Xt model are u considering to buy?
Tell us, cuz me might be able to help u choosing the "perfect" one.:crazyboy:

I have a Sapphire Radeon 9700 PRO card. It runs every game I've tested except Far Cry on the highest settings, PES3 works very good with it.

Starting XI
my card ASUS 9600XT runs far cry on all settings full with 1280x1024 AA (don't rememeber exactly it's value)

Card drivers 5.5 catalyst.

Also upgrade at least to 512.

And make a search before posting again.

lol, speaking of drivers, IMHO i think its best u use DNA drivers cuz they are much faster and give much more quality and compatibility over The Catalysts and OMEGA's drivers, believe me, i tested them using 3DMark2001SE(since PES3 is directX8.1, i used this benchmarking tool which also uses DirectX8.1 to compare the speed of these drivers..)the result?
using a p4 1.6Ghz 512 sdram and a ATI Raddy 9800pro
OMEGA based on Cats 4.5-14677
Catalyst 4.5-14902
DNA based on Cats 4.5-15478
lol, see the difference?just a quick note, using the relatively older version of DNA drivers(2.14.2a) will give u a lot more speed cuz the new drivers are supposed to be a lot slower than the older ones. The speed is also influenced by yer CPU and RAM.
Its all up to u guys tho.;)

P.S-i will not take any responsibilities of anything that happens to yer computer if u use these drivers.Use it at yer own risk.Anything u do to yer computer is a RISK.

here are the links to these drivers

Ati Catalyst

Dna's drivers

if you ask me...i'd say using the Catalyst are a lot more risky.i once had to reinstall winXP when i upgraded a new ver of the cats.DNA basically doesn't overwrite yer whole video drivers cuz it still needs the original catalyst installed to function.it only tweaks the CATS(speed , quality and compatibility) and modifies the Ati Control Panel.

I have an amd athlon xp 2000 and a radeon 9600

and play on 1024x768 on full detail and the game runs perfect, not a hint of slowdown.

(on windows xp by the way)

big al, if u can afford it, get the brand from either ASUS or Gigabyte cuz those are good card vendors, if not go for the HIS 9600XT.plus, remember 2 check the clock stock speeds e.g default 4 a 9600 XT should be 500core/300x2memory effective...and when yer buying it make sure to check the Ram on the card as well.the RAM are the squares that surround the chip or fan(there are four usually).check on the square whether its Samsung or TSOP.Samsung is better than TSOP.And the most important thing check the amount of ns it has...e.g 9600XT usually has 2.8ns
so i suggest u try 2 find a card which has 2.5ns or lower.remember, cuz this will be important if u want 2 overclock yer card in the future.Cuz the lower the ns the higher the memory is overclockable.

Cheers dude:crazyboy:
