I know all you guys are discussing WE6 for some time already, but I have to mention one thing that I've just discovered in PES;
it's impossible to receive the 4th red card (=end of match)!
Once you receive 3rd you can go on slaughtering and there's no way to get the 4th expulsion! I was just wandering if it occures in we6 as well! It is, very stupid!

- o.k., but, such realistic game shouldn't have such unrealistic bugs!? This is almost as silly as no ref on the pitch, don't you think so?
- BBB from Dalmacija, why not!? BBB since I was very young, and, Ciro won the league with Dinamo, '82, that's when it all started, probably! There's like 3 of us in the whole town that support Dinamo though! Who cares?

Minor bugs man, VERY minor...anyway, the referee missing is not a bug. They deliberately left him out, I think its a good thing, who gives a crap where the ref is anyway.

If you wanna spend 4 pages talking about bugs, list the bugs in FIFA2002 or WC2002, because neither resemble football let alone the HUGE idiotic bugs prevailent that render the game unplayable.

As I said, they are deliberate bugs. It's not that they don't know the rules, they just didn't feel like implementing the end of a game before regulation.

"It's not a bug, it's a feature!"

LOL. You guys are such kidders. If only I could get away with those kind of arguments on the FIFA side.

"No, no... they meant it to be like that!"

Just havin' fun. ;-)

Ah, you can't tell me that ref+linesmen on the pitch wouldn't be great!? 'End of game before regulation'?!?! - It's the rules of soccer game and such situations can decide a match! If a player earns 4th expulsion, he has to go out=end of the match! Otherwise, you could have a match where your opponent scores 2 goals in 10 minutes and sloughters your players till the end of the match!!! Rules are rules!
I wouldn't talk about FIFA and Word Cup simply beacuse it's not worth it! I played Fifa for years and I know what it's all about! It's utter sh!T!!!
PES is beyond any comparison, by far, the best soccer sim in the world, but these few details are missin', that's a fact!

Yeah it's really a pitty they didn't implement that, it's part of the rules, why not putting it then? If it's really deliberate it's quite stupid imo...

BBB..I get you man, I think it's a minor flaw and personally really don't care, but I can see where you're coming from.

They probably made it like that to avoid the situations you get in FIFA when if a guy is losing they'll deliberatley hack everyone to get the game abandoned (like my mate does on PES but hasn't yet realised he wont get a 4th red).

Also, the rule is that if a team has six or less players left, be it through injuries or expulsion, the game should be abandoned, so in theory it would be possible to play on after 4 red cards. In fact it happened to Hearts about 5 years ago.

talking about bugs or annoying features... the most bugging issues for Winning Eleven 6 are

1) the inability of the ball-receiving player to run beforehand. In WE6, 7 times out of ten if I pass to a striker they just suddenly run behind his defender, even if I switched to him after the pass immediately and hold R2 to ask him to run to the ball...

2) the ping-pong situation where a teammate happens to be in my path and he just got the ball, without me intending to pass. This is extremely annoying in the penalty area...

3) The "frozen" 0.5 second when I switch to another player manually. For example, I found out a player is closer to the ball than my current one, if I switch to him, he will freeze (if he's running) and then acknowledge my command after 0.5 second., thereby losing precious opportunities. The CPU players never freezes and they can have more than 4 players running simultanously and smoothly.

4) The catching-up of slow defenders to strikers. Yes, I know the tapping d-pad trick and I've been using it. But even I use it, Babangida can never really pull away (more usually they just cannot catch you by maintaining a distance behind) by pace.

5) Foul logic... No red card on being pulled by last defender. CPU's hard tackle seldom results in red card while my very gentle tug gets a yellow.

Please share if you have any tricks to deal with these. For PES these haven't been too annoying as CPU is relatively easy to beat, but these are huge annoyances for WE6 Extreme mode.

BBB,

First of all, no one says that it wouldn't be nice to have these rules in the game and ofcourse the mentioned rules are missing. Rules are rules. What game has implemented handball? or a drop ball situation? It's not that game makers (Konami and FIFA) don't know about these rules, they just hard code their games to by pass them. Deliberately creating a bug in their game. You've seen the ball hit a hand in both games right? Have you ever seen the appropriate reaction? This is what I mean.

Holesinswiss,

If you like, you can make whatever arguments you want to make about FIFA and the way they programmed the game. The only problem is that the FIFA debate is not about bugs. It's about the FIFA core game engine. People don't like the FIFA game engine and therefore can't stand the rest of the game. If you ask people who play PES/WE6 that with all the bugs in it, would they stop playing it...hehe, I think you will hear a resounding Heck no!! That is because the core of the game is still intact, everything else, is just gravvy. :)

That's my theory too, and I have a few friends like yours as well! ;) Still, maybe they could include it with an on/off toggle in the menus in case you wanted the rule and then when the game is abandoned the 'innocent' team gets the default win (though that would be rather silly for cup finals and stuff agains the CPU).

Totally agree about the red & yellow card thing, but I don't find the others much of a problem as you do but hey, that's just me. I find automatic/default switching works the best so you could try that out but I know it's something that many find annoying so it may not be right for you - can't hurt to try though.

Not sure what advice to give you to try and outrun players with someone as speedy as Babangida, I guess just take into account the fact that a defender already in motion and running across to cover will be harder to outrun than a stationary defender who has to turn and start to accelerate from a walking pace (or just standing) to catch you. Also, remember that even if it looks like you're going to be caught when running down the touchline you can still shield the ball somewhat by intermittently cutting towards the outside (so that's sprint forward, little diagonal move to the touchline, sprint forward, little diagonal move to the touchline & so on). Works for me.

Yeah they sould allow the game to be over cause it's a rule...and i'm a purist

About the speedy defenders i've notest that changing direction and pace(R1 and R2) works quite well. Most of the time u'll get fouled(yeah i know he wont see the red card...but it's better than loosing the ball and u might get a dangerous fk :)) or the defender will stumble and leave u.
The changing direction is more effective to get away but it has to be timed well and u need some space to do it( i usually do it when i'm heading toward goal)

PS: Have u notest that when the kepper is holding the ball u can now move it(pressing R1 or L1 i don't remember)?

very nice said, Neutral! my opinion too...

@owngoaler:
you are right, the frozen moment you are speaking of is more or less an epileptic erruption or something isnt it ;)
and i completely agree with the foul logic being NUTHIN but str8 bullsh!t for real! i'm always gettin mad when it happens ;)
and that catching up of slow defenders thing is just what i been whining about but if u think about it, you'll understand why they did that. you know since your defenders catch up everytime too it's harder to score now. for we and the CPU. anyway, sometimes i still hate it tho...

I happened to be at that game, our entire defence was sent off, and Gary Locke was running around like a mad man trying to get sent off!!!!

anyway, I was also at Brockville the week before, you happen to be anywhere near our support at that "stand" a.k.a cowshed??:D :crazyboy:
