Very strange problem with FIFA 14

Hello friends! I'm incredibly happy to be back here after a year. This happy occasion is overshadowed by a problem in my favorite game. I have not played FIFA 14 for about a year, I have not launched the game even once. For a few days I started playing again, but in the arena and during close-up matches I have some ... artifacts. Who knows what could be the problem?

What system do you have? I also reinstalled fifa 14 on my new pc with windows 10 and an amd 6700xt and my problem is that the crowd suddenly appears and disappears during the matches, has anyone experienced this and been able to solve it?

Windows 7 x64. and Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 (very old windows ) The bottom line is that I've never had a problem with this game before.

Friend, I solved my problem (HORRAY): need to reduce rendering quality. It's a bit sad because I always played on the highest settings. I hope you solve your problem too.

yes, I was thinking that my problems come from that side, I now have a 6700xt and I put everything to the maximum, even in 4k, a pity, it looks so beautiful...

Oh dear, I'm not alone then!
Everything works fine with my old rig (i7 920 + R9 270X with Windows 8.1) but I do have the exact same issue you're facing with the new setup (Ryzen 5 3600 + RX 5770 XT with Windows 10 22H2).

I haven't been able to solve it yet, though.

Everything works fine with my old rig (i7 920 + R9 270X with Windows 8.1) but I do have the exact same issue you're facing with the new setup (Ryzen 5 3600 + RX 5770 XT with Windows 10 22H2).

I haven't been able to solve it yet, though.

I should do it anyway as Window 8.1 is out of support so why not giving it a try?

If everything works, we can at least exclude the OS from the causes (I thought it would be Windows breaking some legacy DirectX files maybe, but apparently FIFA 14 runs without that glitch on a laptop with Windows 10 although very slowly as the laptop is not that new anymore).
If it's not the OS then we're pretty much doomed: it's either the hardware or the drivers (good luck to us finding a driver release that works, then, if it exists!)

I have windows 10 and to make fifa 14 work I put compatibility mode with win8.1, I think the problem is in the gpu, I have an amd 6700xt

No problem here on Windows 10 on my old i7 920 + R9 270X (with 22.6.1 drivers, as they happen to be the latest available for the R9 270X which is almost 10 years old).
Fresh install only with drivers, antivirus, EA app and FIFA 14 updated to the latest version (thank you, EA, for not letting us install the disc versions anymore).

So it's either a driver issue (it already happened that newer AMD drivers would bring artifacts in some games/software when the previous ones would just work) or a video card issue.
Gonna try drivers from mid-2022 (if still available) on the RX 5700 XT to see if they work as expected.

EDIT: no way. 22.6.1 drivers for the RX 5700 XT didn't solve the problem.
I'm tempted to go further back (switching to 21.4.1, which I should still have somewhere) but I'm not sure I'll see any encouraging result either.

Nothing to do. Not even reinstalling 21.4.1 solved the issue.
We're pretty much keeping the game as is I guess (no way EA would offer support on this anymore I guess), if you happen to find the solution just let me know though, I ran out of ideas for now.

I'm having the same crowd issue. I previously had a Nvidia 1660 Super with no issues but I upgraded to an AMD RX 6800 last month and now I see this crowd bug. I have Windows 10 OS. I've only had this GPU a short time so I don't know about previous AMD drivers, I now am on Adrenline Edition 23.12.1 (11/28/2023).

A user on Evoweb had the same problem and posted a different version of d3d9.dll that apparently solves the problem! I've been playing for one hour and no more crowd bug for me till now.
