Is it just me or are all his goals from no more than 8 yards from the goal. He's so predictable you'd think managers would tell the defence to just mark Man U's widemen to stop the supply. He cannot create many chances for himself and relies on giggs and beckham/solkjaer too much. And don't get me wrong he's a world class striker but I find him tedious and boring to watch.
Now Ronaldo, Shevchenko, Del Piero Henry these guys are superior, they explode into matches and are great to watch. And don't say Henry is not a natural goal scorer 'cos who finished top scorer last season.

Come on! :D I really start to doubt your footballing knowledge.
The thing about good strikers is the way they get rid of their defenders at the right moment. About scoring from close range: I remember a goal he scored at PSV from just past the middle line: Is that close too?! :D
Van Nistelrooy has also great vision and is able to dribble very well. I remember an almost goal against brasil in 1999 when he past four defenders and only failed to score because he wanted to do it nicely with a backheel :)

Bergkamp is the Dutch Master Ruuds got nothing on him.

You're a bit of a dumbass. Henry creates more chances for himself, I guess that is correct. But Van Nistelrooij created at least two chances for himslef last night against Depor. He was fauled once and didn't get the penalty. He may score from close range, but you have to be there. To be there is a quality as well. It's about vision. And so what if he realies on his wingers and midfielders, that's what they ar ethere for right. Transporting the ball from defence to attack. Van Nistelrooij is the best finisher in the business today. He might not set up as many chances the way Bergkamp or Henry does, he just scores them all himself! And how can you say that he is boring to watch, he scored four goals yesterday! How boring is that! Those players you named may be a bit more creative, but Ruud scores a lot more. Also don't forget that this is Van Nistelrooij SECOND season at a big club, he will grow and learn. He will learn how to provide others, and his workrate is so good that our defending starts with him.

I have seen not a single dive when he scored twice vs Deportivo.
Don't think I am a Man Utd fan: I am Dutch and I don't really care about what English team is better.
I just conclude that you are either very biased or you don't understand what is asked from a real striker.

I think Van Nistelrooy's goal per game ratio speaks for itself, which I believe is the best in the premier league, and is superior to Henry's. 18 goals in 19 champions league appearances? He's obviously a very predictable and talentless striker because he hasn't got 19/19. :rolleyes:

Every goal counts there matey. I do believe that he played a part in both goals against the team that wasn't going to lose another match ever. He sets them up, can create chances for himself and can score from more than 8 yards out.

His header yesterday was very poor.

He's not bad, just repetetive he waits in the box boots the ball in the goal, all boring goals. His movements good but all he does is wait around in the box he's just plain boring - gary neville was more exciting when he broke forward.

And did anyone see van nistelrooy punch Ljungberg last season in the match arsenal won the premiership, he punched him right in the gut.

WTF! You can't be boring if you're CL topscorer in two seasons. ANd bagging over 50 goals for the club in a season. He isn't a diver, you're just like Wenger "I'd rather have Jeffers for 9m then Ruud for 19m". Damn you're ignorant.

Van Nistelrooij a bad header? Did you just know how many goals he has scored with his head? He's a good header, look at the goal last night, that was pure class.

Why is it that everybody always wants to compare Ruud with Henry or any other striker. And to compare him with Bergkamp is even more stupid. Bergkamp and Ruud are so different. Bergkamp can never score the amount of goals Ruud can. On the other hand Ruud isn't a passer and creator like Bergkamp. Why compare them. You're just another sad Arsenal fan trying to bring down Van Nistelrooij. Go ahead, be ignorant.... We know his value to us. Look at his statistics and silently bow down.

Anyone see Keown punch Van Nistelrooy last weekend? Anyone see Bergkamp stamp on the Blackburn player a few games ago? Anyone see Henry kick Mexes in the head when they were on the floor in the CL a couple of months ago?

Look. Bergkamps a fantastic player, Henry is a fantastic player and Van Nistelrooy is a fantastic player. A goal from 1yrd out counts as much as a goal from 50yrds out. The only reason you find Van Nistelrooy boring is because he convincingly made monkeys out of Cygan and Keown (who looks like a monkey anyway - is he related to GWB? :D ) last weekend. And your believe too much of what the bitter Thunderbird puppet that is Wenger says.

lol! it's obviously not enough for a player to bang away goals anymore (which funnily enough seems to help win championships), they have to do it in a 'particular' way!

and all this time i thought strikers were hired to score goals.

the only reason i mentioned him punching ljungberg is because not one other person ever mentioned it and i thought that maybe it only appeared on my tv screen.

And I'm not calling ruud a bad player but everyone says 'look at him he's the best player ever' but to be honest he isn't a great footballer but a great finisher.
And why do people compare him to van basten?
Van Basten had pace, agility and was superior to any striker in history.

Couldn`t say ut better myself, I bet those Arsenal and Liverpool fans always wanted Ruud to play in their team, like we always dreamin` about Henry and Owen plus Ruud in ours.

The real problem is hes a selfish, over praised, goat faced gimp that wears a shirt i wouldn't wipe my arse on, and to be honest chelsea are a bigger threat to arsenals crown.
Hasselbaink is miles better than ruud.
