Buddle is awesome. I got to find that out when he hit that poweful bending shot past Henry Ring last Wednesday. :(

Martino can dribble like a motherf*cker. Seriously, I think he has more skill with the ball at his feet than any American in MLS. (That's not saying that much, but still...)

We did everything but score.:kader:

Countless opportunities to score, most of them falling to Damani Ralph. He plays crap everytime he plays for us. When we have to resort to giving Deon Burton a run out we a really in a bad spot.

Oh, and that cunt Lazaroni for some reason is refusing to start Andy Williams.

Embarassing, after we beat them 3-0 away last time around.:kader:

Damn AP Course. I saw the first 15 minutes then I had to work (still doing it now..).

I love a good goal scoring game. Well at least I saw one of the goals.

I think the following teams are for sure better than the likes of Moldova, Armenia, etc.

USA
Mexico
Costa Rica
Honduras
Guatemala
Jamaica
Canada
Trinidad & Tobago

After that, that seems about right. Haiti and Panama are improving though, and Cuba aren't too far off. Then you have El Salvador who are getting worse and worse.

Shifty come on man let's face it, other than USA and Mexico the CONCACAF is complete s*it.

Starting XI
Kerry Zavagnin is a great player, but i dont think he should be starting ahead of Pablo Mastroeni.

Hes just that type of player that you need on the field at all times. Kind of like Gattuso for AC Milan. Did Bruce Arena forget how great Mastroeni was against Mexico in WC 2002?

Zavagnin has performed very well in these qualifiers he deserves to start.

How quickly you forget the 2002 qualifying campaign.

So what, are you telling me Armenia is on the same level as Costa Rica and Honduras?

Zavagnin has been good throughout the campaign and he's been great in the last two games. The d-mid spot fight should be between him and Mastroeni. I don't expect Kay Z to start come WC 2006 though, he'll be 32 and Mastroeni will be in his prime.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that the level of competition in CONCACAF doesn't compare with UEFA and CONMEBOL, I mean whenever the USA play anyone but Mexico I feel like they aren't proving anything to the world like they are just playing some team that they should beat and I don't expect anything else and I'm very dissapointed when I see them get anything but a win because of what I said earlier in this post.

thats why no one ever takes the US or Mexico seriously... we play vs Dominica, T&T, El Salvador and other similar countries. We look really good beating them by 4+ goals. But we cant really do anything about it. At least you guys go play European teams in Europe for friendlies... we play vs Ecuador and some CONCACAF country.

OK, that makes sense. But as for CONMEBOL, Brazil and Argentina are also on a different level than the rest of the competition. Their competition is stronger than CONCACAF competition, but Brazil and Argentina are better teams than the US and Mexico, so you end up with a somewhat similar situation.

No... as you can see Colombia tied at 0 with Brazil today. And the only player missing was Kaka, so that proves that Conmebol is far stronger.

Also Argentina tied at 0 too with Chile ;)

And the US tied with El Salvador and Jamaica.

Portugal tied 2-2 with Liechtenstein. Does that mean that Liechtenstein is serious competition to top European teams?

What have countries in CONMEBOL outside of Brazil and Argentina done in the World Cup since 1950? Now compare that to 7 combined World Cups won between those two countries. When is the last time Brazil or Argentina failed to qualify for a World Cup?

The gap between USA/Mexico and the rest of CONCACAF is not bigger than the gap between Brazil/Argentina and the rest of CONMEBOL.

Eh... that's not the point. In fact I said that in my original post you replied to:

Frankie can't even do a successful stepover (except vs. Mexico) and he's trying bycicle kicks.
I take that back!

Teams vs. which Frankie Hejduk has done a successful stepover which helped him gain an advantage:

1. Mexico
2. Panama

:)

Btw, Eddie Johnson is averaging 8.37 goals per 90 minutes.

Yeah the gap is the same but just like you said that Brazil and Argentina are stronger than USA and Mexico the rest of the countries in CONMEBOL are also stronger than the rest of the countries in CONCACAF. I would love for USA and Mexico to join CONMEBOL we would really have to prove ourselves and the games would actually get me hyped up but sadly it will probably never happen :(:(:(.

My thoughts. I honestly think Chris Armas is gonna be hard pressed to take the DM spot away from Zavagnin. Zavagnin is just better IMO. What can I say about young Eddie. 4 goals in his first two US caps. I hope this is a sign of the future. You can tell that by playing Holland, Beas's game has improved leaps and bounds. He's cutting, taking cats one v one, beautiful passing. Donovan has taken his game to the next level. I want to see him taking FKs instead of CLaudio. Boca was so close to heading in that Donovan FK early in the 2nd half. We've made it to the hex and are one step closer to Germany.
