Last time I saw a game thread go this long, I believe, was Pizza-gate the rematch

Congrats to the socceroo army: 30+ years in the making, and im sure it tastes even sweeter than you ever thought it would :jap:

Harry was brilliant, Neill was Man of the Match, but Harry was the spark we needed, far better than in Montevideo. Harry's back baby! Liverpool will be well pleased.

I think Neill deserved to be man of the match. He was solid and scored one of those penalties but Kewell had a great game as well.

guys all i can say is sportsmanship in this thread is at an all time low. i dont know how it is in the spanish version of this thread but clearly fifa fair play has been throwen out the window. can u guys just get over bad mouthing the uruguayans.

i just had a thought that maybe once in a while australia should have a series with uruguay. kinda like in cricket. maybe 2 games to decide the winner of a trophy. we have developed a love hate relationship over the last 4 years and i think it would be great for sport. it is just a thought though.

guys this is hopeless.

i mean yes they were spitting at us four yrs ago. but that is in the past. if they act like big idiots over at uruguay and at the centenario by spitting and acting like fools and cursing at us why the fk should we do it in return?

havent you aussies heard of 2 wrongs dont make it right? yesterday i was very proud to be an aussie but after the match reading all the posts that have offended uruguay and south americans i feel very ashamed to be an aussie.

so to all of those people bagging uruguay please stop because you have just ruined a great result and rather making it one that people all over sg would want to forget.

on before the match though. i must say uruguays preparation is what let them down. i mean if you think about it australia had to fly further than uruguay in thats week. but australia took a chather flight that had massage tables the lot. uruguay took economy class. i mean come one how do u expect a team to perform if u dont get them ready with the necessary things. that is the number 1 reason why uruguay were outclassed.

australias preparation was world class and they deserve to be in germany. uruguay i have a soft spot for u (only coz of zalagol and juve) and to all uruguayans on sg keep your heads up and thanku for the most unbelieveable tie i have ever seen in my life.

I applaud your post (C)

Thank you for this great post :rockman: Good thing that you said it that you are Australian and you are a Moderator, because if I or anyone else would have said it, we would have clearly have gotten bashed as usual....Because not only were many of the posts on this thread offensive and disrespectul to Uruguayans, but to some of us South Americans as well. Anyways, you are one of the few Australian members on this forum for whom I have any respect for (Y) Peace, and good luck in 06'

really? Cause I thought every citizen in Australia wanted to nuke Uruguay (cause they hated us so much) <that's the impression i got from many posters here>

No I was actually asking. Is there that much hate (Cause there really isnt in URuguay)

no its not that there is hate. i think some aussies have still memories of that shocking day in 2001 at the airport in uruguay. coz we are so passionate things like that still stay with us.

but i believe its more like we all should just forgive and forget and form a friendship between the two nations. i mean hey we are all square. australia 1-1 uruguay in ties for world cup qualification.

Who's fault is that? Is that Australia's fault? The Aussies had to fly from Australia to Uruguay and back. The Uruguayans had one flight, Uruguay to Australia. Nice excuse, but the fact that your Football Federation is too cheap to pay for first class tickets (or a chartered plane) doesn't change a thing.
