Here's the background to this thread writing reason:
Urs Mayer is a swiss soccer referee, he was invited to be referee at the EURO 2004 competition. He refereed 1 or 2 matches and he was pretty good.
When He juged the quarter final between England and Portugal he judged very good but in a situation of 1-1(I think) in the last minutes Sol Campbell scored an header, all of England players started to celebrate till they heard the whistle that canceled the goal(Because John Terry throwed down Ricardo).
From that whistle and on the English media(especially "The Sun") started to criticize Urs Mayer:
1. They told about the story that he left his wife for a woman soccer referee.
2. "The Sun" streched England's biggest flag(of the fans who were in Portugal infront of Mayers Elecricity store in Switzerland.
3. They made an incite against Urs Mayer
"It's their problem", he said
It will probably be hard for him to put his leg on England's ground in the next time period.
Do you think that the "charcter killing" of Urs Mayer is true?
