Unrealistic results

Hello!

The problem is that my results are very unrealistic. I'm succesful in Champions League (won ManU and Real Madrid) but can't dominate in home league. For example: I won Real Madrid 3:1 but after the match (there were rest 3 days) lost to Karlsruhe 2:4 (these results were without using patch). But when I downloaded and used 9.3.0 patch then it's still same: won Manchester United 1:0 at Old Trafford but draw 0:0 against Hannover and at next round I lost to Stuttgart 0:2 :/ So silly and unrealistic. What's the problem? It can't be like that. My team is Bayern Munich.

It's not unrealistic to win some games in the CL and lose some games in the league, it happens all the time. Teams win the CL and fail to win their league all the time.

Okay. I may look little bit too hungry for win but there are major differences between how team plays in CL and how they play in the home league. I've been trying different tactics and so on but in the home league I just lie in the 9th position and can't handle even Hoffenheim do not mention the Werder Bremen. Although my friends play nicely, they succeed in CL and in the home league too. We are playing online : ) But I had the same while playing offline mode. And I've been playing Football Manager and Fifa Manager since 2003 (or 2004) so I am quite experienced.

It's funny how people always blame the game if their team doesn't perform the way they want.

When you play well in CL it doesn't mean you will play well in the league(both in real life football and FM). If your tactics don't work as well against teams from your home league as in the CL, you should try tweaking your tactics a little. Maybe that will work.

Oh my god, I don't BLAME the game, it's just little bit weird because I haven't had such thing before in managment games. OK, I'll try traditional 4-4-2 and let's see. I just thought that maybe somebody else have such a problem in Bundesliga or playing with Bayern. It's well known truth that game have lots of bugs and stuff. Now it looks like people think I don't know how to loose but I think it is not like that. Thank you for the answers : ) Appreciate it.

you don't have to get frustrated really. in my Juventus game I couldn't beat Siena once in 4 full seasons. everything has its kryptonite, just tweak your tactic a bit, there is no invincible one.

4-4-2 will probably work better for Bayern anyway. Marc van Bommel it's exactly a versatile player.

EDIT: Last game it was 4-4-2 attacking approach. Using attacking right (Ribery) and left midfielders (Basti), in the middle were Ze Roberto and van Bommel.

EDIT2: Aston Villa is interested in me, very rare because I'm so inexperienced. But I hope I can do my best and help them out from relegation zone. And maybe you can give me some tips.. so my friends don't laugh at me because I used to be greatest player in FM08.

What were your specific player instructions? Did you just use the default tactic?

I don't use the player instructions but I always set team instructions. I think I have to be little bit attacking because I have 5 good midfield players and use only 3 defenders. Thank you ShiftyPowers, you are really friendly and it's nice to see that : )

EDIT: Played my first game and took lead 3:1 but West Ham got 3:3 draw. Very unlucky draw, after leading 3:1 I was defensive-oriented and they scored very nice goals but I rattled crossbars and stuff.. waiting for another game against Blackburn.

In my opinion using universal instructions don't really help out much at all. Here's a really basic tactic that I've been using (adjusted to the team) to success with a few teams. I'd put Barry as the CM with the forward arrow, have Agbonlahor as the striker on the left and set as target man.

You can adjust the tactic based on preferences. You might look to give Barry a free role and more creative freedom for example. You also might want to focus passing down the flanks.

Mr Whiner here again! At the end of the first season I saw some light at the end of the tunnel and rose after O'Neil fail Aston Villa to 12th place but at the start of the new season I got some good new players, started new season and 5 losses. Preseason was nice but when REAL season started then guys just don't realize their opportunities and finito. I guess I have to wait FM 2010 - then I won't be cursed I hope.

how many new players did you get? and did you put them all straight into the first team? it takes quite a while to get a team to blend.

Goalie (Akinfeev), defender (Breno) and two strikers (Berg and Hoarau, one of them is in the starting eleven). After I got struck by lots of injuries (3 DC's of 4 were injured) I loaned Jorge Andrade from my friends team Juventus but by that time I have been lost already 4 games in a row. I can post screenshots or something, maybe I do something totally wrong although I've been playing management games for years and I've been always successful.

I can tell you right now that you spent too much money on Breno. The central defenders on my wunderteam right now are Sakho and Fazio. I highly recommend both; far and away the two best defenders I've ever had.

But anyway, I'm sure it's not the players, it's your tactics.
