And now, some (bad) news about the Classic Patch Selector (CPS) project.

While i was working on it, i faced many issues, let me explain the two biggest.

The first one is a structural one. As we advance in parallel between the patch and our add-ons, conflicts between players, stadiums or even teams will become more and more usual.
This is difficult to handle in the CPS because those objects have ressources (logos, faces, textures...) that correspond to these ids.
To summarize, to handle conflicts, the CPS would also have to edit the file structure !

The second one is about new Classic Patch tournaments structure : it becomes technical xD
In database, all national team tournaments are regrouped in generic "nations" named "World Cup", "Euro", "Olympic Games" etc. These nations have the same id accross every databases.
And these nations can only have up to 7 tournaments in it. So, where to put the 8th World Cup in the custom database ? In a created nation ? By overwriting other existing nations ?
This is clearly much more advanced database editing stuff and i am not Rinaldo :D

So, the project is paused, maybe definitely. However, to help merging databases maybe it could be cool to split the whole patch and add-ons into several cmps that people can combine as they want ?

I don't think you should worry about this.
The possibility of conflicts so far is very low, from what I see Giggi, you and Ovide and i are all using different areas of the DB.
And even of one day it comes to an ID conflict, it's really not so difficult to rename some files manually.

In a created nation ? By overwriting other existing nations ?
If you ask me both options are viable.
Let's say we can only have 7 world cups? Then 2022, 2018, 2014, 2010, 2006, 2002 and 1998 in a single database would be already amazing!
And if we need to create a new "nation" and split them by "World Cups XXI" and "World Cup XX", then it looks good to me as well.

Please don't scratch the CSP project. It may be a bridge too far to release it as a fool-proof user-friendly tool, but I believe it will still be incredibly useful for us enthusiasts and modders.
Keep up the great work!

I've honestly never been in favor of the DB selector. It's deleterious for me, for you, for anyone who creates content. By choosing which team to play, months of work on other projects are trampled on. Not to mention the enormous risk that anyone, on any platform, makes a database only with WC and maybe resells it. We break our asses creating and with two clicks he creates the database of dreams and resells it. I say this because I've seen similar stuff on rFactor. I don't know if it still exists but there was a sort of selector for tracks, cars and championships. Some dude created the league of champions out of nowhere by putting all the world champion cars (made by others) into one playset. Then he put it up for sale. Don't imagine the mess he created. The others wasted time creating and creating everything and he made himself beautiful with other people's files. He is not tolerable. Let them take all the package we create for which we spend sleepless nights! If you don't like it, don't download it, because we don't get anything into our pockets anyway. We respect our jobs.

That´s an interesting topic to consider, but, if you think about it, that scenario is already inevitable... sure, right now it would take a lot of time, but since the assets have already been made, there is nothing stopping someone to just create a wc patch with all the assets from this one... the best we can do, i think, is to put a disclaimer is all FIFA 14 related forums/social media: that way you can reduce the number of people buying the patch.
Besides that, you could open an option for donations (if anyone wants to colaborate, but I believed you had discussed that topic before and why it couldn't be done)

Recreating a database with various cmp and matching everything, refs and everything is a job that must be known how to do. You must have some experience. Creating a database with a two-click selector can also be done by my mother, so anyone. Even those who are not interested in the patch, those who don't like football but want to make simple money can do it. Reads that the patch has a sequel. Reads that there is a desire to make that database. With a selector it creates it before us. First we can think about how to coordinate with the other works already in creation. He comes first and monetizes. So it is to be hoped that such a tool does not exist for the good of the creators content. Without also considering the interest factor. If one only wants DB WC then he doesn't care about everything that is created in the various databases, in the various decades. in this way you lose people who download and consequently, if active, also donations. The WC are complete, so there are those who will say "why download further if the creator is working on something else. I already have what I need". This is how ten-year work is inflated downwards.

You're asking about the scoreboard? It's looks like that because the creator of the video has an extra patch added to it that changes the scores to the one from ESPN

No friend, i have the scoreboard, i mean about the graphics of the competitions in the stadiums (Dressing), the graphics of the world cup 2006 for example (or the champions league editions).

For the graphics is some independent patch?

Again, i'm sorry for my bad english, but i need answers for a best experience of this patch.

Oh wow so @Jbou41 being the fastest gunslinger this side of the Mississippi that he is, already releases an update :D
Originally I had thought that while he was working on the DB, I was slowly but surely working on the graphics, and eventually both would be released as the update (since additional kits or jersey name case needs to be edited with the DB too), but oh well.

Basically, being the detail maniac that I am, I have been improving every graphical aspect to make it more consistent with the Champions League matches of that season.
For example:

- Adboards
Assigned extended region specific adboards (e.g. UniCredit in Cyrillic for Russian teams, HypoVereinsbank for German ones, etc).

- Balls
Original addon had Finale balls. Of course it needs both group stage and Finale for the complete package; the ultimate goal would be having both domestic and UEFA balls for each season (@DeWoo might chip in here).

- Kits, jerseyfonts and kitnumbers
To follow the original CP concept, where UCL/UEL is the primary focus, I've been searching, editing and converting UEFA graphics for the teams where I can find it; the ultimate goal would be having UCL + domestic + Final (when applicable) kits for all teams.

- Tournament dressing
Every UCL season from 2005 to 2020 has been assigned an authentic dressing.

I have also been working on recreating every UCL Final's dressing for 2005-10, now movig to 2011-20:

- Stadiums
Added real stadiums to teams with generic ones. Easy solution: take the stadium with all IDs properly assigned from HBZ mod (e.g. Leicester Stadium, ID 335) and create a new stadium in CP 2010-20 DB with the ID 335; use the same files and share the stadium between the two mods.

- Boots
An attentive eye will see that most if not all players in these screenshots are wearing year appropriate boots. I am close to completing the Sputnik 2010-2020 addon.

Although I do admit that I stopped following the boots game around 2014, so I there's a lot of research happening now with my bootpack, trying to find put who wore what and when.
So if you are knowledeable about the boots between 2015 and 2020, or if you have the rx3s already, feel free to contribute.
Also would be nice to have someone who knows GK Gloves to provide some info on who wore what.

Same applies to all other areas too - we are a community here, and team effort always helps!
@valambrosio2 is doing awesome job with the extended mod too, and of course the more people working together the better.

UPD: of course, if you are a complete authenticity freak like me who has assigned 33 pairs of unique boots to CR7 already, you might also want to edit the fan banners (e.g. Chelsea, being the team I support since 2004, change Torres 9 El Nino for Diego Costa the Guv'nor, Big Pete, Drogba Legend, Super Frankie Lampard etc depending on which season we're talking about), add realistic warmup benchplayers and real managers :D (@Re_coded might chip in with the latter)
Hi Man, exactly i looking for this, you have a link or something?

Hi!
Basically, all has been collected into gigabytes and gigabytes of files from this forum, moddingway.com, fifa-infinity.com, etc.

For example, the WC 2006 dressing you can find in my graphics thread as I made it myself
Continuing with the World Cup theme and a bit of nostalgia: here's a project I started a long time ago and kind of forgot about it:

FIFA World Cup 2006 Germany tournament dressings

Design reconstructed from scratch in accordance with official host city color codes

Berlin

Dortmund

Frankfurt

Gelsenkirchen

Hamburg

Hannover

Disclaimer: these textures are originally indended for FIFA 14 stadiums converted by @gonzaga
But I assume they should be applicable in FIFA 16 as well.

Part II coming soon.

This I believe I made and sent to Jbou, so must be included in the patch if you play UCL tournament.

With the npc's like the cameraman, the managers or players trainings, don't appear to me in the matches, you know some fix for this, comrade?
This I believe was purposely deleted by GIGGIRIVA as he prefers "classic" look of football, in order to re-activate them delete the cameraman, ballboy, policeman, etc. folders in Classic Patch's data/sceneassets.

So in short: it's not an indemendent patch, just a lot of personal additions.

Well, since i started holidays a couple of days ago, i will try and make some more specific face files for these addon, so that we can have an even more immersive decade.
Starring today: Sergio Ramos
Funny enough, i didn´t know he started using his comb and beard look as far as the 2012-13 season, so this is not going to be a long change.
This winrar includes his WC 2010 face already present in the patch, so that you could see that face in:
-Real Madrid 2010-11
-Real Madrid 2011-12

Marcatoons Ramos is back!!!

Besides that, i noticed that i missed a file for Messi´s package, so here is an update of those files (fixes Barcelona 10-11 face).

Thanks a lot friend, how i insert the graphics of world cup 2006?

The second, i played all editions of champions league from 2005-2015 and i never see this graphics in some stadium or match played, you know a fix for this? (Or you can share the files of the dressing of champions league matches and finals)

And the last is, i already delete these folders, but the npc's equally don't appear (it's like they are invisible), some solution for this, comrade?

Equally thanks a lot for your help, i love the retro football and this details make the experience so much great.

edit: Forget the part of the npc's, i fixed this using filemaster, only i regenerated the files and all it's ready for a good experience :D

Hi! Is it possible that a player that doesn´t have a generic face ingame does not have files in sceneassests? In this case, the player in question is Sergio Agüero

Well, continuing with this project, i present to you... JAVIER MASCHERANO.
During the 2010´s, Mascherano went completely bald, so here is a face to reflect that.
1688773092952.jpeg

Teams where this face it´s included:
-Argentina 2014
-Barca 14-15
-Barca15-16
-Barca16-17
-Argentina 18
Thanks to yanis080189 of Moddingway for this amazing face!
Ps. Please @Jbou, consider adding these files (Messi, Mascherano, Pirlo, Sergio Ramos) in future releases, it would be a great honor!

@ukwe will all due respect to the facemakers please try to avoid those "early" face conversions as the tools weren't as developed as they are now and conversions would often suffer from a "lazy eye" as you can see with Mascherano's right eye, or "piggy nose".

(also, as always I am preaching the setTeamYear method and face_playerID_yearID way to cut down on file amount (just 1 file for 4 seasons, works for faces and tats alike)).
For example, just 4 sets of files for almost all of career:

But great initiative in general!

Ok! Do tou recommend any sites to find these kinds of faces? I mostly go for moddingway, but if I knew where to find them, I could avoid those rough faces.
Besides that, i could try that method, but i don´t know how to work with lua files, i don´t have that modding knowledge, the files that i´ve made so far, although archaic in a way, are simpler to do (even our conference league friend could do them).
However, i´ll look into it, see if i can learn a thing or two.
