-Adu impressed against the Swiss and gets his first NT start.
-Adu probably won't go the full 90 and expect Jozy Altidore to get his first cap today.
-Heath Pearce starting ahead of Jonathan Bornstein is huge. Looks like its Pearce's job to lose.
-Maurice Edu impessed against the Swiss as well, look out to see if he continues his stellar play tonight.

Altidore earned his first cap, but didn't do much since he barely got the ball during his 25 minutes of play. He did do a nice "sombrero" on a defender...drew "ohhhhs" from the crowd and myself ..oh well until January against Sweden...

Great first half by the US, not-so-great second half. Still came out with the result, 1-0 win. It's good to get used to winning in South Africa.

Good game by Edu, Cherundolo, Bocanegra, Onyewu and Dempsey. I'd give MOTM to Edu - nice assist and had a solid game all around. It's a shame that by the time Altidore came into the game, we had already pretty much given up on attacking. I thought Adu had an OK game, but we need to see more out of him if he is to become a fixture with the US national team. For all the fanfare around Adu and Altidore coming into this game, it was Edu who impressed the most.

Meh... the first half saw some good play by the US. I don't know if it's really worth it.
