What do you know about me, I grew up in Florida and played soccer my whole life and in college, how do you even play soccer in Wisconsin anyway, its frozen. I don't play on a under 14 team. I am an adult who owns his own business and negotiates thousands of dollars in principal off mortgages in the State of Florida to help bail out the depressed market. Don't get it twisted, I am not a little boy and I will go toe to toe with anyone on any subject. I am not happy with the loss, but I am not going to whine because we couldn't beat Brazil. We had to beat a solid team(Egypt) 3-0, and then Spain and Brazil back to back, who does that?, yes we had a chance but how many teams do you think could actually pull that off. Also it keeps us level headed going into the World Cup, A confederation Cup win would only build tremendous pressure going into WC 2010, I think we can win the world cup, I think this tournament proves that we can beat anyone but the chances of winning the Confed Cup and World Cup back to back would have been slim to none. The final result will make the team hungry, you could see tears at the end and they will never forget how that made them feel, this should set us up for a good run in the CUP. But of course you are the expert that lives in the frozen Tundra of Wisconsin, a hot bed for athletic talent and sports knowledge,(LOL)

:coffe-anim: It's not impossible just highly unlikely considering USA is not in the World Cup yet and there will be 24 other teams there.

You sound like a real winner, I don't know why I would ever dare get in a war of words with you, you're a triple threat! Financial titan, soccer stud, and poet.

Go to any US Soccer Forum on the internet and people will be bitching about Bob Bradley's awful adjustments.

And yeah, I have no idea how I could possibly know anything about soccer living in a city with a climate virtually identical to Berlin. Clearly it's just too cold for any good soccer players to develop in such frigid conditions.

Not even close to being a titan, just trying to survive but at the same time I am not stupid, this was my point. Yes, I know on bigsoccer and other forums they are calling for Bradleys head but after making the final of this tournament he wont be fired so bitching wont get us anywhere and also it was his coaching in The Egypt and Spain game that put us in a position to win, not every move but most of them. Would I like a different coach? yes, but when you get a 2-0 lead you should win, dont blame the coach.

Florida schools do not care about soccer, they are heavlily focused on US football but there is a ton of talent from the state that goes elsewhere to play and its usually over seas or the US program in Bradenton. When I played in college Florida didnt even have a team and Fl St. barely had one. When I played youth soccer , Florida was one of the deepest pipelines of talent along with Cali and Wisconsin wasnt even on the map.

Quote "Since he's from Wisconsin he's not allowed to talk about soccer?"

Not true, he can talk all he wants, just dont single me out as having a 1st grade education and playing on a under 14 team. I have a college degree and run a solid business in one of the most depressed stated in the US.

Then don't make statements one would expect from a 14 year old.

And by the way, I grew up playing with D1 soccer players through youth/club and high school, and had an opportunity to play college soccer which I turned down. Being in a "hotbed" of talent doesn't have anything to do with knowing anything about soccer. Some of the "best" players I ever played with didn't know **** about the big picture. They just knew what to do when they got the ball.

It was also his coaching that got bollocked by Costa Rica, El Salvador, Brazil and Italy.

El Salvador.

EL SALVADOR!

I'm not going to blame players who took a 2-0 lead and then got worn out and the subs weren't coming. Anyway, I think we can bury this, clearly we were just on different wavelengths here. I think Bradley has done a really good job game planning; with the exception of the first Brazil game we came out strong the entire tournament. Bradley's problem is that he doesn't know who his best players are, and he can't make mid-game adjustments. He lets his counterpart completely change the game and the USA continues to do the same thing.

LOL, I really don't pay attention to paragraph structure or even correct punctuation when pm'ing or texting or posting, sorry you are right. When it comes to logic I must disagree.

A ball landed in the Brazilian party tonight. Apperently it was Sacha Kljestan passing it to them again.

Firstly, congratulations to the USA for beating Brazil 2-0 over 45 minutes. The second goal in particular was as good a team goal as any I've seen. You guys represented CONCACAF and yourselves very well, and should be proud of that. That said, I will agree that Bob Bradley made tactical errors in the second half.

Donovan's goal came because Brazil was throwing everything but the kitchen sink at the US, and got caught on the break - but he didn't seem to me to make any adjustments for the onslaught that I think everyone else expected in the second half. Switching Kaka to wide left and putting Robinho in the middle of the pitch where he could benefit from the space that Gilberto Silva and Maicon were quite generously given was a masterstroke by Dunga.

The only US player that disappointed me was Spector - I think he had a poor game, but I do take into consideration that he was playing against Brazil. I was particularly impressed with Charlie Davis and Ricardo Clark, two players I had no prior knowledge of. Good game, and losing 3-2 to Brazil in a final is nothing to be ashamed of.

Cheers.

I didn't think Spector was terrible for the first half, but he definitely needed to come off in about the 60th minute. Starting then, Brazil wasn't getting stopped on that flank.

ESPN article hints that Landon Donovan sees La Liga as the ideal destination for him. He is a fluent Spanish speaker, and his skills definitely match La Liga more than any other top league, so this would be excellent. His contract is up after this MLS season, so he would be free in the January window. Not sure which clubs could use him, but let's hope he can play for one of the better ones.

He'd be smart to make that move. Like I said in another thread. He does the technical ability and speed that would fit very well in La Liga.

Guys, I respect everyone's opinion on the boards but I have been watching the US for a long long time and we don't have a bag full of tricks, we cant bring in a second wave of players and switch our style of play. This is one of the big issues with the team. We are a counter attacking team and the problem with that is so are the Brazilians so we had to be very careful. When I watched that game I saw us play the same way we did against Spain except Bocanegra and Spector didn't close of the corners and contest the crosses and Gooch and Demerit weren't animalistic in the middle, to me that was the difference, and of course we were missing our best midfielder but excuses are like a holes. I hope that loss really bothered us, I hope it haunts us so bad that we are so focused come WC time, we need to be hungry and I'm not sure that winning that tournament ahead of the World Cup wouldn't have done more harm than good. Our guys aren't ready for that kind of pressure, not yet, and they would absolutely be expected to do huge things at the World Cup if they had won that game. Its like Bradley said the other day, you have to take steps and we are doing that but you dont just skip from being a solid team to world class even though the foreign media wants to push that issue as to why we cant.

Starting XI
Conor Casey plays like a f*cking amateur and never does anything productive for the United States (maybe except for that run that was unfairly called offside against Spain.) When was the last time he scored for the US? Also, how does get to come on in a final instead of a brilliant player like Freddy Adu?

I just neg repped jimorrizon via a BlackBerry. Isn't technology great?

Q: How many Chivas USA players played vs. Brazil?

A: One too many.
