Brazilian law. Under age players aren't allowed to sign a contract abroad without their parents being employed there as well, or something, and as you can't offer parents a contract in FM, you can't sign u18s from Brazil.

This goes for Brazilians with dual nationality as well, btw...

Thats a pretty good idea. Would certainly make sure that their Youths are used with potential in mind

it's so frustrating watching a promising player's value rocket after their 18th birthday.

I'm not sure if this would work to avoid that problem, as I haven't really approached any U18 Brazilians, but maybe get First Option before they turn 18 so that when they turn 18 you can buy them for a lower value.

Not sure if it'd work, but if someone wants to try it that'd be nice.

you can't make any bid AT ALL on the guys, not even first option etc.

IRL however, Manchester United signed Rincon who was U18 and loaned out to a Brazilian side. But it's a shame really. Those players can really enhance a relegation team.

You'll all just have to find some amazing Argentinian U18 player instead :boohoo: :fool:

Looking at their u20 team last summer, there should be plenty good young Argentinian players available. And 19-21 year old Brazilians are pretty good also.

Yeah, this is down to parental consent, as ruud mentioned earlier.

amazing argentinean? isn't that some kind of paradox? Messi being the exception to confirm the rule?

Just look for the next Maradona, not that it'll knock many young Argies off your search

Like the great players that are sure to make Europe bow down to them and lead them to World Cups like Ortega, Veron, Riquelme and D'Alessandro did?
