I decided to make this thread so that I (and others) can alert people of any good films coming up on TV in the UK, so as to be sure not the miss anything
I'll try to update it each week if I can.
Not much on in the early part of this week, but it picks up. Conspiracy is definately the one to watch though, dont miss it.
Thursday 25th November Film Four 8:00pm - Conspiracy If you have Film Four, and are around at this time, definately do not miss this incredible film. Quite simply the best film about the Holochaust (except perhaps Schindlers List) I have ever seen, this is just pure brilliant in every way, the acting, the directing, the sets. It is an essential film to see, I highly recommend it - for me, it's undoubtably Kenneth Branagh's finest work.
Saturday 27th November BBC2 11:00pm - The Long Riders An excellent western, and definately a film worth watching for its originality and quality. A must see for all Kill Bill fans who want to see Carradine in another film, this film about the all to often covered subject of the James/Younger gang achieves total originality by casting real brothers as the brother in the gang. There is also an awesome knife-fight scene, and this is definately a film to watch if you get the time.
Saturday 27th November Film Four 1:45am - Fellini's Cassanova - Not one of Fellini's best films, infact one of his worst, but hey, the Italian master's work is not often exhibited on TV so grab the chance if you can, despite the annoying time. The brilliant Donald Sutherland takes the lead role in this very Felliniesque slant on the old tale, and while this is nothing compared to 8 1/2, La Strada, Amacourd, Satyricon etc, it's not a bad introduction to Mr. Fellini and his work.
