You're right about the game in Madrid, but all in all- Arsenal last season in CL played like 100 times more defensive than they do now. It's a fact.
True. They played defensive and for all the knockout stages played a 4-5-1 and relied on the counter attack in the away games. But I hope when people say that Arsenal played defensive they're not criticizing them because, it worked, and instead of playing a long ball out of the back they tried to play there way out of trouble.

They could of put 3 past Madrid in Madrid, at Highbury Arsenal pretty much ran the show. Juventus were ripped to pieces at Highbury.

Jens Lehmann played out of his skin.:) However, Raul should have scored at Highbury though.

Yes very true. . Anyway whats wrong with defensive tactics, being an arsenal fan i just hate how Arsene Wenger alway complains about the other teams with their negative tactics, when his team does it. He need to find a plan "B" to score goals against defensive tactics.

Couple of ?? over some players though, Henry and Gallas

The way Arsenal are playig great this season, that's how they were totally lucky and playing holly defensive crap last season in CL..
Anyone who doesn't admit the lucky 1-0 wins of Arsneal last year is a damn pretender

Some times you have to play ugly to win, just ask the "special one". On the lucky 1-0 wins, well when you are unlucky in the league, with oppersition Gk making save after save, creating 15 chances and then the oppersition scores a 30 yard strike from nowhere, Then i think you need a bit of luck in other cups.

Arsenal playing crap. They are out of the CL. PSV completely outplayed them. What a shame.......(H)
I think its time Chelsea brought Alex home to Stamford Bridge. He is awesome.

A lot of surprises in that group right there. I'd say at this point you only have two clear on favorites and they are Chelsea and Manchester United. You never know what you'll get from Liverpool and the other clubs are all teams that weren't supposed to make it to the quarterfinals this year over teams like Real, Arsenal, Lyon, Inter. Milan is just not the team they have been in the past seasons. Kaka can't get them out of s*it forever, somebody else will need to step up.

The next round is gonna be WIDE OPEN.

Dude you're already in the quarterfinals, that's IS far, from now on it is basically a toss-up, any of these teams can win it. I would not be one bit surprised if PSV ended up winning the whole thing. Looking at the way Milan started the season you should be damn happy to be where you are right now.

given the way we played at the start of the season, you're right, I am happy to get this far. but given the favourable draws we've had in the CL so far, I never really expected less than the QFs

PS: thanks for the highlights, Garlei (Y)
