UEFA Champions League Final: FC Barcelona Vs Manchester United

Team Captain
The scum should take this final... as much as I don't wanna see it happen. Pique's inexperience is gonna bite him in the ass, look for Rooney to molest him. And Messi's gonna have a rough outing with Vidic, Cokehead and Evra in the back.

Premature prediction, 2-0 to the rags.

Seriously, watch Chelsea play in the EPL and you'll be surprised at the way we play. We play a lot more attacking football hence 59 goals scored for. Please if they do, they're gonna pull a "Stoke", talk about teams who defend not with 5 men but with the whole f*cking team. Go watch Chelsea - Stoke game at Stamford Bridge back in January

Lol but Stoke is not a big four team man. You have a scutcheon to defend. You must have played football just because your name is CHelsea FC.

I watched your last game vs Fulham. Yeah great passing great first goal but sorry it was Fulham not Barcelona!

And Manchester united aren't the 19 other teams in the la liga. The two horse league has been even worse this year with the way Real have been playing.

Barca go against a prem team and struggle to score for 180 minutes.

Based on the way Barca played Chelsea I think this one is in the bag. Pass, pass, pass but cant do anything with it. Was messi and eto even on the pitch?

Sure, coz that team defended with 10 players 179 minutes. And btw, we scored on the 179th minute. ;)

Btw, why all MU fans are commenting just Barça's performance. I guess you're scaring guys. You would rather see Chelsea as your opponent as it would be easier for you to defeat, right?

See the second leg again.:icon_spin:

Whoever compares us with any other team in europe especially real madrid is just deluded.
We are a different kettle of fish altogether. Barca is yet to face a team of our quality.
And i hope we give pique a rough ride cuz he lacks pace and both rooney and ronaldo can rip him apart.

Man Utd vs Barca in the final is surely a mouth watering contest.Barca have looked unstoppable this season but all their attacking flair was of no use against a well organised Chelsea defence in both legs IMO Chelsea deserved to go through rather than Barca, for Hiddink another Semifinal defeat in a major tournament also the Madrid jinx is broken.
Man Utd after a poor start to the season, picked themselves up and were chasing an unprecedented Quintuple which was shattered by Everton in FA Cup semifinal,Man Utd have been very strong defensively while the attack has been phenomenonal. This game will surely be a cracker and the team with the best defense on will win.

Regardless of the fact that they fielded busquets yesterday.Pep Guardiola knows that we're a class apart from Chelsea. He will want his best available players to play the game.

Messi will have to be closed down.Upto Evra, that job. But Evra goes forward so often, I'm a bit concerned that he might leave space behind himself..And Messi is as speedy as, if not more than, Evra....So we might need to play an anchorman in the midfield. So I think we'll be sporting a 4-1-2-2-1 as well, with Rooney down the left, Ron down the right and tevez(I don't bliv this, but I hope!
) up front. Carrick plays a holding position, Anderson and maybe Scholes will start the game. It's a long shot, but this might be the strategy SAF will think about.

To strive, to seek, to find and not to yield...

Very rarely does such an occasion arise in sport where the two teams doing battle are at the peak of their powers. Where every silky pass can hurt like a rapier thrust, each well-timed tackle signifying a desire to not be beaten at personal cost to life or limb. The team that is not afraid to lose is the one that will triumph.
There could NOT be a better neutral setting for this final. The Eternal City has beckoned - and warriors from the once furthest reaches of the erstwhile Roman empire will converge on its omnipresent capital to decide the fate of the silver up for grabs. That is what at least, the Catalan challengers will think. We will thwart them, we have to. The Cup's home is in the northwest- northwest of Rome, northwest of England- in Manchester. It HAS to be retained.
Barcelona are a great club- a team to be highly respected, even adulated. It is a titanic task to meet them toe-to-toe. Yet, we will! We will play OUR game, unshackled, unafraid.
We have to dig deep, reach in and rise anew when others surmise that there's nothing more left in the tank. Fletcher will not be missed- the team collective will ensure that we cover for every player, in every position, twice over. UNITED we are, UNITED we will be on that field. It is our destiny.
United players aren't taught History in school, they are just given a blank notebook to fill it up with their own deeds! That is WHY it is so important that we triumph. It will be a marker for all future United teams to aspire to and emulate- just like the 1999 team looked for inspiration at the 1968 one when they stepped up against Bayern on 26th May, 1999, or the 2008 class infused the spirit of the 1999 vintage within themselves against Chelsea on 21st May, last year. We will NOT surrender that heritage on this 27th either.
The United Fan is unique. We too are a collective yet each of us believes oneself to be the most passionate, most die-hard supporter, the one who's prayers matter the most to the team. Here's mine - a humble one:
Come On, United - I BELIEVE

Bye,

Fletcher may have cause to appeal

ESPNStar said:
Manchester United's Darren Fletcher may have a chance to play in the Champions League final in Rome after all.
UEFA general secretary David Taylor has revealed an avenue of appeal could be open to Manchester United over the red card which has dashed Darren Fletcher's Champions League final hopes.
The Scotland international was dismissed late on in Tuesday's Champions League semi-final win over Arsenal for a professional foul on Cesc Fabregas.
Replays showed Fletcher had in fact played the ball but UEFA confirmed yesterday that United do not have the right to appeal against the referee's decision.
As things stand Fletcher will sit out the final against Barcelona in Rome later this month but Taylor has hinted at a reprieve for the combative midfielder.
"I have spoken with Alex Ferguson personally on this - as fate would have it we shared a car after the match. We were rather thrown together but had an interesting discussion," Taylor told The Sun.
"He was very fair about the referee and what had happened but equally he was very disappointed for Darren, as are we all.
"I tried to give Alex as much advice as I could with regards the procedure in these circumstances.
"There is no formal process. But if the club want to write to us with information - such as video evidence - explaining why they think this is a harsh punishment then they can do that.
"The likelihood is that we'd then refer the matter to our disciplinary body.
"They would then look to see if there were any special circumstances to justify any departure from established procedures.
"I must stress there is normally no way these matters can be overturned."
Fletcher's hopes could hang referee Roberto Rosetti admitting to his apparent error in his match report, but Taylor concedes such an admission may not be enough to reverse the red card.
"The ref may take the view a mistake has been made and include that in his report but that wouldn't be in any way decisive," he continued.
"It's an entirely discretionary thing, whether or not the committee feels there is reason to intervene.
"That's the position. Strictly speaking there's no appeal process but representation can be made and looked at."

cool maye we can do that for abidal...

On a second note I don't understand how us barca fans are called arrogant, but the united fans sitting here saying "we got it in the bag"... You can't compare the semifinal 2-leg to the final, it is a completely different game... According to last year most united fans thought they were gonna tear up chelsea, in 2006 we thought we would easily beat arsenal, its the final it just doesn't happen!!! I think both teams have equal talent and ability, and it will be a very close game... As for united sitting back, I hope it doesn't happen, but we have a habit of pinning teams in, possesion is our best defence!!!

It'll be extremely tough for Barça without Alves and Abidal. They deserve it, but I'm afraid Manchester will be astonishingly lucky as usual. They already started to be, with Barça not having Marquez, Abidal and Alves. Not having Fletcher isn't much of a big deal...

if you have the ball, the rival cant hurt you. (johan cruyff)

Damn, what game were you watching? The game I watched Chelsea had several chances and barca liked ballooning the ball with big name players eto, messi etc failing to do anything.

Or maybe supporting a British team with English stars against a Spanish one?

Oh for crying out loud, ya messi wasn't there till he made the assist, and eto wasn't there at all... But you are telling me christiano and rooney always do something right??? where were they when you got thumped by liverpool at home??? Anyway I enjoy rivalry and competition, and you guys can think you have it bagged up all you want, until you win it you haven't done anything...

Hans

How big is YOUR penis?
Two teams that have zero appetite on defending...

****, Barca is vicious man, and I was kinda hoping to meet Chelsea instead of them in the final.

Neutral fans will have a ******* fiesta on this match, but not the case for any of the involved team's fans.

Your totally missing the point. Chelsea were not "defended with 10 players 179 minutes" and barca were just passing the ball around.

I'll retract my statement of saying its in the bag, what I should of said is we have a greater chance vs Barca then the potential alternative yesterday.

Messi still yet to score vs a English team. He will probably score 3 now knowing my luck.
