I totally blame Mancini for this win. What the hell was he thinking for choosing a 4-5-1 over a super effective 4-4-2? Not only that he commited a cardinal sin by starting Cruz upfront alone as a lone striker, that has never worked.

This was definately not the match to try out something new and we got burned. I also don't know why he didn't simply start Recoba? Chino has been playing well so why the hell bench him just to put on Pizarro who hasn't done well? Completely stupid mistake.

Good grief the errors, and just to think I was regaining confidence in Matrix. He may have played well against Livorno but he sure wasn't as effective today. I still blame Mancini though.

BTW why didn't he start Adriano as well? Sure if Chino started upfront with Cruz then it would be alright to not start Adriano but picking Cruz as our only striker when the other two were available is plain silly. Mancini needs a couple minutes of headbanging to think straight.

Congrats Porto, our country really needs these points after the last round´s hecatombe. With Rangers and Artmedia drawing, Porto still has a chance to get to the second round. I think Fc Porto has the capability to get good results against Rangers and Artmedia. They just have to mantain this level and keep Ricardo Costa and Bruno Alves in the bench.
May Porto recover and Benfica mantain their good campaign, so we can defend our ranking.

The lone striker formation should be abolished from football. There's a few things that I hate more in soccer than seeing that setup.

Only saw the 2nd half and highlights, so bear with me.
The difference seemed to be a commanding presence on the defense (P. Emanuel), a midfielder that defends first and attacks later, a pure full-back and a more smart approach.
Still, we gave Inter too many good chances which fortunately they squandered. Bosingwa should never again play as RB. He is harmful to the whole defense with his poor positioning on corners, crosses, off-sides, you name it.

But this was a great win still, a much needed breather for Co and a confidence booster for the players and supporters. Hey, I believe already we're going to beat Rangers and Artmedia on the next rounds. (H

Btw, this was the first match of the season I couldn't watch in the stad. Damn.

Finally a victory, and so much needed! It was a good game, Porto's team seemed much more consistent and even though Inter missed a couple of clear chances to score i think our win is fair...

Let's hope Artmedia and Rangers draw in the next round and we have at least the same result at San Siro... obsviouly we have to win against Rangers at home later and maybe win at Artmedia... we still depend on ourselfs to qualify, c'mon Porto!

Now i ask, why Pedro Emanuel wasn't called for the game against Benfica? And why wasn't Marek Cech used already? The kid seems to be an excellent player!

lol, actually I placed him there because Bosingwa is clearly out of shape, and Sonkaya is... well, it's Sonkaya :P Ibson looks like the best option for the place.


Anyway, for the first time this season we were smarter than our opponent... for the first time this season we played some good defense. And for the first time this season we had that little bit of luck in crutial moments that we hadn't had this season yet... Add that to the fact that Mancini sucks big time and we had a good win

Oh, btw, Inter has an impressive roster!
