UCL: Benfica x Liverpool (P+R)

I hope its going to be a very entertaining game. Benfica wouldn't of got too this stage unless they have a good team. I'll admit the only person in your team I know of is Nuno Gomes. I hope Liverpool win but then again Benfica could always surprise us, you don't beat Man Utd easily.

on paper, we have a very strong roster. Unfortunatly that's not always enough..

Player by player we definitely don't really have a weaker team than Liverpool, but they have much more experience of top flight football and a manager miles better than ours.

We have been performing miserably, we can't finish anything now that Nuno Gomes has lost his scoring touch from the beggining of the season and I just hope the players don't make an ass of themselves or the club like it happened last year at Stuttgart.

I agree Virgo, Robert does have a touch of the Recoba about him. Really its disapointing Robert has never fulfilled his talent, very disaponting.

I think Liverpool will get a draw or a narrow win, maybe even a loss if things don't go well on the night. I hope there isn't a lot of diving in the game, but maybe I just have a bad association - I always think Portugese sides dive all the time. I hope they prove me wrong

Yes, that's why you're below us by how many points? And the big bad "European Champions" could only beat us by lobbing the ball up to their beanpole forwards. Even in our weakened state they still couldn't beat us by more than 1 goal, says a lot. Can't wait till next season when we have a better midfield, we'll kick both your arses all over England.

seriously now... It'll be a tough match in Portugal, it wouldn't surprise me if Liverpool came back to Anfield needing a win... I'm confident Liverpool can win this, but they'll have to work hard...

Well, if we play like we've been doing lately, we'll be murdered. Anyway, like others said, this is a special game. We CAN beat Liverpool, but it will be extremely hard, we'll have to be at our best. They're clearly favourites. Must confess I'm not confident, I can't see us going past Liverpool, but who knows? Hope they manage to prove me wrong and give me some joy.

What? Liverpool clearly has a much better team than Benfica. Starts from the GK and ends up in the front. Benfica are clearly outsiders for this one. As I said against Man Utd, only a super-Benfica can rob a win tomorrow at the Luz. But it is possible...although, at Anfield, things will be very...very different, that I am sure...

I don't think they are better in every position, their keeper IMHO sucks, and they start a player like Carragher.

But overall, Liverpool does have a much better group of players than Benfica....
