to the barca fan who said about that barca should have had another penalty your a joke... your first penatly was almost the exact same penalty that benfica should have got in the first leg.

anyways our midfield was crap petit looked scared the whole game after giving up the penatly.. once again beto proves hes sucking koemans d*ck to still be in our starting 11 :kader:

The dream is over, at least for this year. We had a great run, with some great memories, and I'm sure that Europe knows that we have returned to glory. I would also like to wish the players, management, and fans of FC Barcelona the best of luck the rest of the way.

we gain experience but more important: we won UEFA POINTS and certainly we will be seeded in the next qualifier draw (if we get the 3rd place in the league off course). it was a brilliant run when nobody believed on us and we were very near of shocking even more if Simão scored that one.

Next year count with us again in the Champions League :ewan:

I would say the most important thing is that you get a lot of money. Now you've got more to spend in the transfer market.

yes, most people have no idea how important the CL is to us.

Teams like your Sevilla or Villarreal for instance get 4x more cash from TV rights than Benfica, Porto and Sporting, because you play in La Liga.

We rely only on money from fans club membership and stadium entrance fees to fund us.

The ticket revenue from the first leg game vs Barcelona was 2.5m€. That is massive cash for us.

for everyone questioning the penalty decision given today, here's my question to you:

admitedly, the referee in the game for the last leg made a mistake by not giving a penalty. but just because one referee screwed up doesn't mean that every referee after that has to screw up if presented with the same situation. yes, it sucks for you that the decision went against you, but regardless, the referee hardly had any other option. if anything, after seeing the decision not given last week, there was all the more reason to award the penalty this week.

just like a predicted. 2-0 win for barca w/ goals coming from eto'o and ronaldhino. now let's bring on milan! hopefully by that game, edmilson will have gained match fitness and marquez and messi will have been playing again. who knows, we might even have xavi back for the second leg!!! that'd be awesome!!

Congrats to Barça, what a team!

About Benfica, terrible first half, not so terrible second half, our best players were Moretto (yes, he was good), Manuel Fernandes (the youngest player of our team, the most calm and confident) and Miccoli (although he was most of the game alone, he still created some good plays), Simão was ok...

And, althgouh the referee doesn't serve as an excuse to Barça win, we can say we played against 14 in both games... Anyway, like i said, it doesn't serve as an excuse, Barça was clearly the better team, and they deserved it.

No surprises Barça have passed and we've made a great campaign...

Well just 2 points to make.

I hate watching games where a smaller team plays a bigger one and every time the smaller team gets anywhere NEAR the other team's players.. they are called every single ******* time.

And then every time the smaller team gets the ball they are MAULED by one or two of the bigger team's players and it just goes on as nothing happened.

THAT PISSES ME OFF to no end let me tell you.

It's not just today.. it's in general... but man does it make me mad.


Second.. I'm so TIRED of watching Forwards who are payed MILLIONS.. MILLIONS.. of dollars that can't do the simplest thing in the world.. LOOK UP... oh ****.. what's that?? I'M 10 ******* yards OFFSIDE??!!

I'm a classic cherry picking forward for all the teams i've played on and I'm CONSTANTLY and I mean constantly RIGHT on the line... all the time... I can 100% honestly tell you I haven't been called offside in probably 5 years.

I think it's a disgrace that these Million dollar forwards can't just ******* check to make sure they are offside and be more aware.

In my opinion we have 2 jobs.. score goals.. make sure we don't **** the entire team by being constantly offside.

IF.. that's IF Benfica's forwards could have actually looked up once in a while.. we MIGHT have been able to do something when their defence was pushing forward so much in the first half.. but it was a dismal display and we got what we deserved.

Congrats to Barca.. better team by a landslide like I said before.. bout time you showed it :rolleyes:

It's not his fault he isn't with us, he said that nobody from Benfica ever made a salaray offer, he said the salary was not a problem but no one made him a proposal. So, if Benfica doesn't show interest in getting him, of course he prefers to stay at Milan, he has no other option actually. There was some real contacts some time ago, but Milan always asked to much money...

And about him coming, he already said also that at this age, he will not come, cause he would not be able to produce like he want to... Like i said before, he doesn't want to become another Zaho...

About Sergio Conceição... nah.

Sérgio Conceição is already too old, imo, and after those incedents (spiting on a player, then throwing his shirt to the ref and let's not forget he was his team's captain, also being awarded the best player in the belgian league), I surely don't want him.

I don't think we need a troublemaker.

Just read Pires denied those news linking him to Villarreal or to whatever club. He has yet to make a decision, so there's still hope he may join Benfica in the summer :p

SELL BETO.. please GOD sell BETO... Sell Roberts ... Sell Montorass .. NOT TRYING TO BE RACIST AT ALL .. but he's got to be the tallest black guy in the world who can't run as fast as my grandma.. you look at him and expect him to be a cheetah but he's more like a .. something slow anyway.

Sell one of the keepers... not the young one.


That's enough for now.. It would be nice to see Gomes NOT bust his knee up one of these seasons.

Portugal fans beware... our players are starting to get hurt at NOT a good time... I'm so worried about having half injured squad for Germany now.
