Carlos "El Pibe" Valderrama (Colombia) and Diego Armando Maradona (Argentina) two of the gratest South American Futbol (Soccer) players ever... I know I should have mentioned Pele he is at the top with Maradona... Pele was a complete athlete and a skillfull soccer palyer, Maradona was and artist of the sport with awesome skills and Valderrama was an Incredible midfielder with an outstanding panoramic view of the field and his players.. I know some of you are dying to post your European stars.. so please go ahead shows your best... :)

Zinedine Zidane is better than both of them. He has played in a harder era, won everything for club and country and wasnt pumped on steriods to do it.

No one can say this era is harder than previous eras, Maradona is at the top with the big stars... how can you dare say Zidane is better than Maradona... you are totally wrong...

I misspelled "f*cking"...... :kader:

Notice the Spanish exclamation marks though (H)

Seriously, Carlos looks like he's well stoned, while Diego has the "I'm gonna puke but I'll take one more for the country" expression :mrpimp:

No im not wrong, just because u think Maradona is better don't make u right, it's a matter of opinion. Zidane had more class than Maradona, he didn't handball the ball to win a match and he wasnt taking performance enhancing drugs to play better, Zidane wasnt a cheat. My opinion and i think Zidane is better than the two u mentioned. Although Valderrama had class, he is the Columbian version of Stanley Matthews, he was a legend.

You are right when it comes to a matter of oipinions, but you are wrong whe you say this era is harder than previous eras, sure times have changed and futbol has evolved but this does not mean this era is harder than previous eras... Now my opinion Zidane is a great player but not to be put in the category of Pele, Maradona, Beckenbabuer, Cruyff, DiStefano...

Yeh in your opinion ;). In many people's eyes he is the greatest player of all time, he was named the greatest player of the last 50 years by Fifa 2 weeks ago ;). Just because someone is hailed as the greatest don't mean they should always hold that title. Yes this era is tougher, football is more professional now, players are bigger, stronger, quicker and under more pressure and under the media spotlight alot more than in previous decades, Im not taking anything away from the legends u have mentioned, just that Zidane has brought the game on to a new level.

This era is tough to the advances of this era, but you can not make it tougher to previuos eras, back then the game was played with the advances of that time and the rules of those eras evolved just like man does, saying this is like saying our times are tougher than the cave men times... In my opinion you are totally wrong by comparing eras to make players better, if that the case Maradona and Pele brought the game to new levels way better for their time... Lets look at the game itself, compare balls, shoes, fields, rules... all of these were much tougher back then, balls were harder and heavier, Boots were not as advaced, fileds were diferent and tougher and the rules did not protect the player like they do today... so was it tougher before?? or is it now... anyways there is no way you can compare nor claim one wera was tougher..

You are right in many ways which is why people say "era's shouldnt be compared" which is true it isnt really fair in a way because in tennis for example John McEnroe and Bjorn Borg would get owned by Pete Sampras, because the game has evolved to a new level. But without comparing era's which is wrong in some ways, the fact remains to me, is that i think Zidane is better than Maradona. Maradona was a cheat and a drug cheat, which is what ill remember, not the grace he had on the field. Will Michael Carlos*son be remembered for his music when he dies?, i would suggest no.

Pele on the other hand is a different story. He scored over 2,500 league goals (In South America) and won world cups, he can challenge Zidane in my eyes as the number one player of all time in whatever ere you compare them in.

Are u for real?. It's been well documented, it wasnt the only thing he was taking, he was and still is a coke addict. Saying he didnt take them is like saying Beckham aint bald.
