Ok, i have had enough of the bullsh.it that the turkish teams have been producing lately.
Seriously, just because the NATIONAL team did 3rd place in the World Cup, doesn't mean the clubs in Turkey should think they are so damn great, we are still a building nation when it comes to the club football (turkish league).
Why am I posting this, because i want to get this monkey off my back and freaking tell everyone how i feel.
NUMBER #1....Damn Galatasaray
- Now here we have a team who put the Turkish League on the map. They get a new manager, Mircea Lucescu, who turned out to be an EXCELLENT replacement for Terim, and got Galatasaray into the Quarter-Final of the ECC, and just last year, he almost got a much weaker Galatasaray side to the quarters again, and just because Terim was free, they said thank you to Lucescu and let him go?! Why would you Fu.cking do that?? Why?? Terim is a fine manager, but why get rid of Lucescu after doing such a successful job. Now that Terim came back, he completely overhauls the team, gets rid of Perez, Victoria, gets Mohammed Sarr on loan, doesn't want to play Umit Karan, Sergen Leaves, I mean, he completely changes the team, WHY!! WHY are you changing a team that has been playing so well together? Now look, Terim is so damn aggressive, and so damn big headed because he thinks that he has one of the best team in europe, so he pretty much tries to play an attacking style in every match. It has been so predictable that every team has quickly adapted to the style, and can easily find Galatasaray's weakness. Why did Fenerbahce beat them 6-0? because Terim thought that he can play Attacking in Fenerbahce's home which is never the best idea, and thought he could win, Lorant saw this and played Counter-Attack, and succeeded. Why for any derby would you try to attack the home team, a strong one especially. You should be playing the team to draw, and then try to win the derby at home the next game, you'll come out with 4 points, rather than just 3, because it's not likely you'll beat Fenerbahce at home. The Management is poor, why would Canaydin give Terim almost 100% control of the team, anything Terim says, goes. No, you can't do that, especially if your a chairman. If you are a chairman of a football club, YOU have to take care of it, the manager is there only to get your club to where YOU want it too be, the manager should NOT be in charge of getting players, getting more money, getting a better reserve camps, no, the final say should be with the board, but because they gave Terim all power...hey beacause of that, they are paying Jorge Felipe a truck load of cash...for nothing...he's gone now.
#2 FENERBAHCE....for 45 years
Fenerbahce is my favorite team, i'm sure you can all see that. But for Fu.cking 45 years, the damn bloody team has done the same stupid management styles. This is what it is
- Buy players, never build players
- Buy old players whos' career is near an end
- Have the most ignorant chairmans
If Fenerbahce had a smart board for once in their lives, this is what probably would happen.
All old players who have no use whatsoever to the team like: ABDULLAH, STEVIC, RAPAIC, OGUN...Just get rid of them, they are NO value, they DO not help the team.
Get a good midfield that is relatively young (avg 26 years old): Keep ORTEGA..you need a good playmaker like him, keep CEYHUN, keep YUSUF, keep TUNCAY, keep JOHNSON, keep CEM....but invest in younger talent, and build them for a couple years...there is LOTS of young turkish talent for midfield out there, stop being impatient, you cannot build a successful football club under poor patience.
Keep your current Forwards....Keep SERHAT, Get rid of Washington...he is a slow useless player. If you wanted to get someone like Jardel, then go for Jardel, because there aren't many players like his talent that would come to turkey. Build your younger forwards, start playing them, its the only way.
Get rid of ignorant chairmans, like Aziz Yildirim, i respect his ambitious side, but it comes to a point where it is ridiculously ignorant. He claims Fenerbahce will be a world team by 2005, and by then we will have won the champions league...yeah, i love fenerbahce yildirim, but try getting our team in the champions league first before flopping your damn mouth.
If we had smart management, we would get a CONSISTANT manager, and most probably a turkish one, because foreign managers don't have the highest success rate in Turkey...i don't know why...it just is that way. If we had smart management, they would invest in youth players, preferably off the u-21 team and play them in the Senior team, its the only way to get the foundation going and get a strong skeleton.
Galatasary took 5 years to build that team properly, they built youngsters (emre, okan, umit davala etc), they brought in a playmaker (hagi), they bought in few veterans to lead the team (popescu, taffarel), and they played together for about 5 years and they had a strong foundation and had a very strong skeleton in their hands, and they won the UEFA Cup that way.
The only way the big Turkish Teams will get better is if they STOP being so damn ignorant, and so damn impatient, and it has the potential to be one of the best in the world.
