the court decision was correct. freedom of speech is a different matter. we just have certain values and we are eager to keep them..
turks should never tolerate any disrespect to our founder, father of the turks, the greatest leader of all times, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.
if he didnt existed, if he wasnt our leader, we wouldnt live in a secular state and instead of using swiss laws, we would be using saudi arabia type of laws.
he made turkey modern republic , he separated religion & state affairs, and thanks to him, Turkey is the most modern muslim country in our planet.
Ofcourse we are not perfect, ofcourse we make mistakes as a nation, but thanks to Ataturk, at least we are what we are now, a modern nation with secular laws and independent.

I m not suprised with some of the silly comments here, however i have sad news for you, you cannot provoke me. its just that you guys are bunch of teenagers and ve been there too. so its cool, say whatever you want.

-- i just have one favor to ask from you though, just spend half an hour searching about Ataturk, please do it, look at his reforms, and find out why is he so valuable for every single turkish citizen. dont forget. go to google, type Ataturk, read, read read.. just for half an hour. maybe you ll learn something new, something more "foreign" something more "real" than canada or mexico.

dont waste anytime, there is absolutely no way you can provoke me. you are simply not worth it. but , i want to show you something..
the monument in this picture was built after the gellipoli war, (it was dedictated to Anzac & British soldiers)
as you know Allies lost that strategic war and lots of anzac & british soldiers died,
in this picture, you are going to see why we respect ATATURK so much, and maybe, just maybe, then you'll stop being an ignorant north american.

Those heroes that shed their blood and lost their lives ... you are now lying in the soil of a friendly country. Therefore rest in peace. There is no difference between the Johnnies and the Mehmets to us where they lie side by side now here in this country of ours. ... You, the mothers, who sent their sons from faraway countries, wipe away your tears; your sons are now lying in our bosom and are in peace. After having lost their lives on this land. They have become our sons as well."

What does this have to do with anything?

What if I called you an ignorant Turk-living-in-USA?

Why do you live in the USA if Turkey is so great?

Does your mother still give head the way she used to?

These are my burning questions of the moment.

And if this Mustafucka Assholeturk was so great, you would think that it wouldn't matter what a stupid video on a website said about him.

What a stupid decision by a stupid government. It's ridiculous. I guess Turks are so insecure about their international standing that they can't take a little fun? No wonder you live in the USA...

Anyway, I guess coming from such a small-minded and ludicrous mentality, you have no choice but to defend this absurd load of horsecrap. Poor you:boohoo:

I'm not anti-Turkish. I feel nothing toward Turkey.

I am, however, anti-stupidity, and the unbelievably petty decision to ban a website over a video posted by one person just shows a very backward and silly mentality. What's next? No yellow shirts because Ataturk hated yellow? That would be equally stupid.

I mean, a government should have more important things to do. :kader:

He made you a secular state and now you are the most modern muslim nation in the world!!!! Wait.

You are ridiculous as is your horrendous legal system. It has everything to do with freedom of speech you moron. And it's not even the speech of Turkish citizens, Turkey is so terrified of outside influences saying idiotic things about a dead guy.

Oh now I get it! Ataturk was the first and only Turk who actually had normal human emotions and morals! He wasn't pigheaded and brutish/cowardly like the rest of you. Now I see why you have so much respect for the man.

And what's weird is that it is NOT the typical racism against Turks that exists in Europe. It is a completely SG isolated case of hatred for a particular nationality because of our experience with members from that country. I have not seen a single rational Turk. It isn't Muslim at all, there are great members from Egypt for example here. The Turks have just been awful posters throughout our forum's history.
