turks should never tolerate any disrespect to our founder, father of the turks, the greatest leader of all times, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.
if he didnt existed, if he wasnt our leader, we wouldnt live in a secular state and instead of using swiss laws, we would be using saudi arabia type of laws.
he made turkey modern republic , he separated religion & state affairs, and thanks to him, Turkey is the most modern muslim country in our planet.
Ofcourse we are not perfect, ofcourse we make mistakes as a nation, but thanks to Ataturk, at least we are what we are now, a modern nation with secular laws and independent.
I m not suprised with some of the silly comments here, however i have sad news for you, you cannot provoke me. its just that you guys are bunch of teenagers and ve been there too. so its cool, say whatever you want.
-- i just have one favor to ask from you though, just spend half an hour searching about Ataturk, please do it, look at his reforms, and find out why is he so valuable for every single turkish citizen. dont forget. go to google, type Ataturk, read, read read.. just for half an hour. maybe you ll learn something new, something more "foreign" something more "real" than canada or mexico.

the monument in this picture was built after the gellipoli war, (it was dedictated to Anzac & British soldiers)
as you know Allies lost that strategic war and lots of anzac & british soldiers died,
in this picture, you are going to see why we respect ATATURK so much, and maybe, just maybe, then you'll stop being an ignorant north american.
Those heroes that shed their blood and lost their lives ... you are now lying in the soil of a friendly country. Therefore rest in peace. There is no difference between the Johnnies and the Mehmets to us where they lie side by side now here in this country of ours. ... You, the mothers, who sent their sons from faraway countries, wipe away your tears; your sons are now lying in our bosom and are in peace. After having lost their lives on this land. They have become our sons as well."
