I know this isnt big news for most but for us croats this is a HUGE blow.

Personally i was quietly confident of doing well but this loss has lower my expectations significantly.

I know its only one player but the croat defense and team was built around him. What a loss.

Damn i am guttered :(

what happen with the coach????

There is a catfight going on about wether or not Tudor was fit to play for Juve on the last day of the season.

About a month or so ago Lippi had labelled Tudor a coward in the media because he chose not to play as he felt he wasnt fit.

Tudor was passed fit to play last weekend by the Juve medical staff even though Jozic "the croatian coach" had been assured by Juve that Tudor would not play.. well i guess now its to late.

The croatian coaching staff are furious and in the end we lost our most prized possession.

Well i guess they are all to blame.. Lippi and Juve for passing him fit when he wasnt.. and Tudor for playing in the first place :(

That's a shame. He's a great player and I was looking forward to my chance of seeing him play in the world cup.

It was Tudor who said that he wanted to play......and that was a game in the Champions League....

He gets injured way too often :(

Its true he shouldnt have played.. but Lippi should not label his players as cowards just because they choose not to play a game.

There was plenty of pressure on Tudor to play due to the circumstances and the position Juve were in.. im sure if they had no chance of winning the title he would not even have been considered.

Croatia blame Juve for injury woes Wednesday 8 May, 2000
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Igor Tudor will probably miss the World Cup and his nation has pointed the finger of blame squarely at Juventus.

The Bianconeri star has suffered a succession of injuries this season and publicly protested when he was rushed back from an inflamed Achilles tendon

Just two weeks after another comeback, the defender has been forced to undergo surgery on his right ankle and will be out for the next six weeks.

“Juventus did not respect the agreements we had regarding Tudor,” blasted Croatia Coach Mirko Jozic.

“Igor, the Juve club doctors and their directors agreed that he would be taken care of and prepared for the World Cup.”

Tudor was brought back to play the last two games of the Serie A season and suffered a damaging setback in his fitness battle

However, Bianconeri General Director Luciano Moggi has defended their decision to field him. “Tudor wanted to play,” he assured Croatian newspaper Vecernji list. “If he didn’t feel ready then he would not have played.”

“Tudor was very important for us in Sunday’s game at Udinese. Juventus feel no guilt at all over this situation.”

Croatia will face Italy in the first round of the World Cup Finals this summer along with Ecuador and Mexico.

In today’s international friendly Croatia beat Hungary 2-0. Dardai and Kovac were the scorers.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Like i said before Tudor definately also has himself to blame but when it comes to injuries the Juve medico know whats best and should have ruled him out.. obviously the importance of the situation made them think otherwise and now we pay the price.

ermm....i see no reason why Juve is wrong here.....

Reason 1 - Juve pay him a LOT....more than the Croatia ever will.

Reason 2 - It was Igors choice to play.

And with all the money that Juve have invested in him , they deserve his full potential......and it was ultimately fruitful in winning the Scudetto which will go down as a highlight not only in Juves record books...but in Tudors career.

And this applys to all clubs.....The National team coaches are a pain in the butt and they just want everything to fall in place.

Beckham was played just 2 weeks after his injury...and unfortunately he was injured again.Only this time there was Duscher to blame......but in Igor's case there is no Duscher to blame is there ???!?!? So point at Lippi.

Also....some people think that Tudor was played so that his injury causes Croatias WC chances to diminish as they are in Italys group.....HOW F*CKIN SILLY IS THAT ??!?!

I Remember...Del Piero was played by Lipp just a day after he returned from injury in a Champions league game.

Bottomline - Its just an Unfortunate incident and no one deserves any blame.

So that entitles them to play players nomatter what state they r in.. i dont think so.. this has nothing to do with money.

Juve invested money &.. but dont forget croatia invested 21 or so years in him prior to him going to Juve.. i wonder how much that was worth???

Hmmm...It seems thats what every Juve fan is saying cause in the end it all worked in their favour.

We can sit here and discuss this all day but lets agree to disagree and leave it at that ;)
