Tournament mode crashing

Hi,

I've been creating a tournament with CM08 during a part of this sunday afternoon and in Fifa 08 when I select the tournament mode the game crash immediately...

What is important to care to avoid Fifa crashing when creating a tournament with CM08 ?

ive same problems when replacing Relegated teams with promoted teams really annoyin aswell !!!

Anyone want to explain!!!

I would recommend you look at the Barclays Premier League/Coca Cola Championship set-ups (in CM08 'Tournament' section) and see the structure of promotion and relegations.

Hopefully you understand my example.

Suppose you have two leagues (League X and Y).

In league X, the bottom 3 teams will be relegated. Select the "Team #" button for the bottom 3 spots. Now select League Y from the drop down menu, and select one of the top 3 teams (in order preferrably). Repeat for the other relegation spots.

Now in league Y...in slots 1-3...select the "Team 1", "Team 2", and "Team 3" buttons, select League X, and one by one select the bottom 3 positions.

You can have as many relegation/promotion slots as you want.

I finished a promotion/relegation league...although I haven't 100% tested it yet. However, I am able to launch it in Manager mode. Let me know of you're unclear about something. Hopefully if you follow the Premiership/League Championship format, you can get yours working.

Yep it's a good way to create its tournament to look at the existings one, but it's what I already did, but in my case it's a knockout with 64 teams that takes teams from existing leagues. I even tried to export/import this kind of tournament from a patch which contains it but it doesn't works when FIFA is non-patched... It doesn't seems to have conflicts with the ID, everything seems to be right linked.


EDIT : Now it works...I don't understand why, I tried it again after having re-installed the game and by changing the photograph of the cup!

i did change the promoted and relegated teams for the new season...and its working fine...i am playing manager mode...and i have corrected the teams for all english leagues...and top uefa teams.....no probs with crashing...into my 6th season.....

I forgot to mention you have to have a picture of a trophy for the league, or else the game will crash. One of the sections in the forum have trophy pics that you can import into CM08.

This is what I did. I set up a promotion/relegation system for Major League Soccer with teams from USL (I got team patches for this league and imported them).

I just relegate the bottom 4 teams from MLS and promote the top 4 teams from USL. I also added a few teams to MLS.

I'll send you the files in a bit...I just have to make sure I export everything correctly. I don't want my files to cause your game to crash

It isn't that hard really once you get the hang of it. As for old rosters...it is a bummer but EA has prevented cracked games from getting roster updates.

Did the game crash when you used my league or yours? If it was my league, it's possible I didn't make the patch correctly.

What kind of league are you trying to make? And do you want to play in manager mode? Send me the specs...I'll try to help.

im not trying to make a league im trying to edit a current league roster all i want is to update the EPL with the newly promoted clubs and get the relegated teams out of the league i get all done then it dont work so i have given up on this game now i cant play it with out of date rosters as it bugs me seeing the old players still playing at the club ie Lehmann , Hleb, Flamini so i gave up!!

i have a similar problem...cant play manager mode. When a i finish the first game of the season it crashes when loading the menu...getting a little desperate here, any help please????

Please i need a working file so i can actually play the game otherwise its pointless me even having it installed!!
