Tomorrow

Hey guys,

I'm getting the game tomorrow for PS2 here in the US. I don't know if I'll buy it though. Probably just rent it, you know... then if I like it I'll buy it.

I have played the demo and there are some bugs that I saw that I wish were fixed, but since I'm going to be getting a PS2 game there's no way to ever fix those problems for me.

Matt, like it was posted before, weather, net physics which are extremely basic to do are just not a concern to EA. If I had the game for PC I would request that somehow there was a patch to fix those things, but it's funny guys, because EA has been like this with most of their games.

They just put new features in and leave other features out for no reason with every release, on almost all games. I own F1 career challenge, and in career mode you can't choose difficulty levels, FIA rules or auto/manual gear. They just took that out from "season" mode and you can't do anything about it. Completely stupid.

With FIFA, is the same thing. Something so basic in football, weather is just blatantly ignored by EAC. Rain is almost always more common than sunny. Also, one other thing: in corners and free kicks, I still haven't found a way to just pass the ball to my closest teammate, and knowing FIFA, I think they just ignored that is not always that players kick the ball towards the goal during these plays. The ball will have to go to your closest teammates sometimes. So basic, yet they don't really care...
Then, net physics. I mean, no comment about those because you all know what I'm talking about. Talk about unrealism, it's right there, yet, they don't care.

Anyhow, Matt I don't know if I told you what could be fixed with a CC patch or similar, but since there are so many basic things left out, I had to mention them.

Thanks for the support Jomi, you make a good point too.

Hiya matt mate.

well, seeing as the replay function is going to be added in (hooray!)

there are a few issues I am having

1) I am getting the game crashing on me a HELL of a lot, I dont get that error reporting malarky, whilst in the middle of a game there is a millisecond pause and then the screen flickers and goes back to the desktop, I am not the first to experience this either.....

2) Are they going to do any work on fixing that Champions League issue? I read before that it kept getting 3 teams in each group from the same country, for England, Italy.... lots of places!

3) the Joypad configuration tool (as already discussed)

4) ability to edit detail levels

5) I am also getting terrible blur on the kits, a lot of things are unreadable.... any idea why? my graphics are unchanged and I was playing in 1024x768x16

6) A lot of fixing needed on players, wrong hair colours, skin colours - but again I guess that Creation Centre would fix that?

Any idea as to when Creation Centre will come out? you expect it to be Mid December or earlier ?

Kind Regards,

the dirt doesn't just appear there from sliding either.

I scored a goal withing about the first 4 minutes not enough time to even make a slide tackle or get dirty but as the player celebrated he was covered in mud another silly error

I noticed this from the demo, when i kicked of some of my team had mud on them. I also noticed that the home team only got muddy, anyone else notice this?

it's about time these games companies stopped thinking about their deep pockets...

Simple economics would show you that without the "deep pockets" incentive, there wouldn't be any soccer games. EA is in the market to make money, just as Konami is. YOU personally make up .000000000000001 percent of their sales and it is not economically feasable to to fix every little problem that every single costumer has with the game.

On patches being released. I think it is a wonder that we live in a time where a game can be rushed to stores (to make costumers happy that they get the game quick) and then be able to fix the problems later. Or even have the community work on it together. To me that would make it much more fulfulling that you can be part of the gaming process.

You really have to keep in mind that any of these gaming companies are not making the game for YOU, they are making it for a wide audience of players who also include young children who don't know any better and would like to play a soccer game that isn't so difficult they can't play it.

I am very impressed that EA even comes ot these boards and solicites opinions form us, and for that I am grateful.

Enough with the EA bashing already, they are doing what they can with the time given to them by their superiors.

yes but even a 10 year old would like to see rain and snow or to play in champions league against other european clubs not teams from the league he is allready playing.

you are now bashing the 10 yea olds.i belive they are smarter than you think.

and i don't think ea is doing all they can with the time given to them

I agree on the weather. And by the way, for those of you who don't read. The champions league and uefa cup are in the game (with different names of course). Maybe that same 10 year likes the challenge of having to qualify for them first. : )

Just have patience. Have you ever made a game? I seriously doubt it, so you can't reasonably say how much time it takes for EA to do it. Therefore, cut them some slack or move on to another game title. Like.. soccer america or something.

Ever use that 'check for update' option in the Fifa 2003 menu? Still can't work out what that was for.

lol me neither Kia Kaha.... they sure had us fooledo n that one, mind you lets face it with FIFA 2003 they would have to do a David Blaine and spend 44 days sat in a box fixing it.

hey guys, if I could actually play the game for more than 20 minutes I'd be able to play champions league etc, but nooooo, the bloody thing crashes, all the time :|

Heh that's the most redundant shortcut ever seen on a Windoze Start Menu (H)...

EA's "check for update" option is called "buy FIFA 2004"...

EA listening to what the fans really want?

Somehow i think pigs will fly first

As long as the game keeps selling well EA will continue along their merry way. That being releasing games which are merely minor updates of previous versions.

But all in all i do share your views.. its about time those morons at EA listened to their fans cause if they did the game would be a hell of alot better than what it is today.

Im glad to see PES finally coming to PC.. maybe alittle healthy competition is exactly what those chaps at EA need :mrpimp:

My 2cents.

Because lots of people have downloaded it off the net. Singapore mustn't have followed the rules and released it early.

The game is 100% complete and sitting in warehouse ready to sell. Actually, it should be on shelves today.

So they copy you got from Singapore is the actual game, just someone in Singapore was a bit naughty and released it early.
