Tips on long range shots

Hi there.

This is my first day with PES4. I use to play fifa05. At first PES4 seemed awkward and confusing.
After getting to know the game and menus, I find it cool and enormous. PES4 have much more aspects to the game than fifa probably will ever get. I am impressed.

Ok, onto my question: Can any of you provide me with some tips on long range shooting. Are there any techniques, or is it just poor luck whether the ball finds the top corner or not?

Thank you in advance. :)

Try to have some space before hitting the ball, like press E and run with it forward then blast it.

You should also try L1 + shoot to chip it from long range.

Hitting the ball first time adds alot of power to your shot.......Pass the ball around and find sum1 open....But pass it infront of him so he can run up to it and blast it home....:rockman:

In training mode you can practice longshots..

There are a few ways of performing longrange shots.

* Pass with the through ball run up to the ball while holding R1 (run) and shoot once the ball is near your feet.

* When dribbeling hold R1 (run) and shoot. (ball should be a bit in front of you when you shoot)

* When dribbeling try pushing the ball forward with R2 + diagonal move and hit the ball once it's near your feet agian while holding the R1 (run) button.

A nice skill to master but tought to do is right after you've hit te bal move backwards, this way you can give the ball more curve, had a few very nice goals with this way. You will notice the player making a special shootingmove.

Good luck

i find the long-range training exercise quite hard because, for some reason, my player is always wildly inaccurate, even when im lined up with the centre of goal and holding a directional key down, and my player is running comfortably (not turning or anything)

80% of the time it's blasted well wide :S

any tips on how to decide whether to do a knee-high shot or go for the top corner? My players seem to randomly blast it either high or along the ground, regardless of the power metre

press forward when shooting and as they said before it should be infront of you then it almost always gets near goal, and it's all about timing

Just keep on trying and you fill find the right moves

Theres nothing better than practice

Practice = Perfect :P

It probably has to do whether the ball is fired from left or right foot...so if u score 20% of time this make sense...u probably hit the ball 50% with right foot and 50% of that time u score which make the 20%:mrpimp:

you're right, i was doing the free training shooting practice, and i didnt realise that Ronaldo kept shooting with his left foot because the person doing the passing was upfield, when i switched it to downfield his shooting was much better

Shooting with the wright foot certainly makes a difference. Some players shoot well with both feet.

Also timing is very important. When the ball wobbles a bit and you shoot when the ball just comes up, the shot usually ends somewhere in the stands... It's all about timing
