Then why did we have money under Clinton but debt under Bush? I don't know much about economics but I know enough to know black = good, red = bad.

Maybe the businesses made money by hiring workers outside the country at slave wages under Bush?

how did this go from South Africa's worrisome crime problem to American economics?.....clearly thought, Tawalkana you are in the entrenched minority who thought Bush was wonderful and amazing.......Had you been right, then McCain wouldn't have lost by a historical landslide including states that had not voted for a democrat in well over 4 decades....

Here. lets end it with this. When Bush was taking office, we were heading into a recession. That was the main reason for the tax breaks that americans began to receive.

Oh yeah! and then there was this thing that happened on 9-11-2001. That eventually lead us to (right or wrong) Afghan and Iraq.

I'm not too happy about the deficit, but when things happen and the government is forced to spend money, then what ca you do? Now, Had clinton spent some of that money that was part of the surplus after the cole attack... then who now where we be right now...

O'k, now back to the topic on hand. Have the construction workers that were on strike, back working??

Well. Madrid are being forced to spend money on Big players, if they are to pose a challenge in the CL. God forbid, a big rival wins it in the bernabeu... :(

Since the first multiracial elections, won by Mandela in 1994 things have gone downhill. Interesting.

NOT TRYING TO BASH ANY RACE AT ALL. Simply stating the obvious. It is going the other way around in the States. obama has done a great job in filling the holes left by his Southerner ****erpart.:)

LOLOLOL...

You have been fed so many lies. We where in Debt under Clinton and their was no "Clinton Surplus". It was imaginary, a "Mythical" Figure but it was never real. Below is the real figures under CLINTON...

Fiscal Year Year Ending National Debt Deficit
FY1993 09/30/1993 $4.411488 trillion
FY1994 09/30/1994 $4.692749 trillion $281.26 billion
FY1995 09/29/1995 $4.973982 trillion $281.23 billion
FY1996 09/30/1996 $5.224810 trillion $250.83 billion
FY1997 09/30/1997 $5.413146 trillion $188.34 billion
FY1998 09/30/1998 $5.526193 trillion $113.05 billion
FY1999 09/30/1999 $5.656270 trillion $130.08 billion
FY2000 09/29/2000 $5.674178 trillion $17.91 billion
FY2001 09/28/2001 $5.807463 trillion $133.29 billion.

Come out of your fantasy world.

Even the Congressional Budget Office (Established by Democrats) states there was no Surplus at anytime.

CBO today is stating that Obamacare is absurd and would bankrupt the US if it already isn't. I'm going off the top of my head on this but I think its 43 Million people don't have health care insurance in the US either they don't want it or don't have the money for it. What none of the media is really telling you is how many of those are "ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS"? How many people have the money and don't want to pay for insurance? I'm not saying health care doesn't need reform but it doesn't need another VA or Medicare part E. Tax cuts, tax breaks, more choices for the consumer, more help for doctors would lower health care costs. Tell me... How can private businesses compete if a company doesn't have to make any money (IE. Government).

I just started my own business 7 months ago and I have no insurance and I am white and born in the USA. I tell you something else. I have been a bank manager for several years and made plenty of money, I paid over $40k in taxes alone in 2007 so I want some of my fricken money back. You talk out of your ass. I cant get health insurance because I have high blood pressure, I literally cannot buy coverage, is that fare? How much taxes have you paid the last few years? Have you contributed as much as me? Think before you speak. dumb@@@

I have no problem with sin taxes. If I had my way, I would increase them while lowering the income tax. It's true that they're regressive, but they discourage the destructive behaviors which contribute to poverty in the first place.

I'm not a fan of Cap and Trade.

1. God? Wal-Mart?

2. Marginally higher taxes does not equal socialism.

3. Keynesian economics. I'm not a believer, but many people are.

4. A lot of people seem to think it helped to get us out of the Great Depression.

5. It has "worked" reasonably well in most developed countries for many years.

6. Again, what do you mean "worked"? That it abolished poverty forever?

Agreed. And as for #4, add Canada to that. What a dumbass, seriously. :biggrinx:

They won't let me buy coverage either! It's fun when people tell me "buy your own healthcare".

It's a very touchy subject for me at the moment as I may be very sick.
