Most of what I wrote is surely old news to most of you guys...but still...I'm new here.
I've been playing FIFA 2005 for a while now and I must say that the game is pretty good, but there are a couple of things that annoy me. For instance, the fact that I can't start a season with Real Madrid. Why must I start with a Second division team if I only wanna play with Madrid? I don't think it makes the game any realistic if we're forced to play 2 or 3 seasons with other teams before I'm picked by my favourite team, that is, if I'm picked at all. Ok...no manager in the world will start his career by coaching a 5-star team but THIS IS A COMPUTER GAME !!! ...and in spite of all the talk about realism in this game, well, there are things that aren't realistic at all. For instance, why is it that injury time is always short when I desperately need a gol but it goes on and on and on when the AI needs to score??? Why is it that no offside is given when the AI needs a goal? "No offside given"...GOAL ! Why is it that two or three of my players get injuries during MOST games, even if I've spent most of my hard earned points in the fitness department? Does that even happen in real life???
As for the AI, well, is it me or does it always play the same way? I mean, it passes the ball around until it ALMOST ALWAYS crosses the ball and hopes to score a goal. I mean, I know it's a widely used tactic, but, c'mon, must all teams play the same?
Whatever happened to the crowd singing during the game? That was something that I absolutely loved in FIFA 2003. Is it me or they hardly sing at all? Well...they don't do it in Santiago Bernabéu.
I think EA SPORTS gives way too much importance to certain aspects of the game, which, to be honest, aren't as important as other aspects which would , in my opinion, help create create a much better game. For example, I don't think we need all those realistic looking players with their real faces and their real kits and their great looking shoes and all that. I don't really care if Beckham looks exactly the same as in real life. I'd give all that up and would much rather have a more realistic game in terms of playing.
