"Argentina paid the Peru goalkeeper in WC 78 cause they had to win by 6 goals, and that made Brazil get out of the final."

This is a shame.

"Maradona made a goal with his hand against England."

This is a shame.

"Argentina put drugs on Brazil and other teams water bootles in WC 90."

This is a CRIME.

Sorry, but...

Argentina = cheaters. :p

Lets see what FIFA have to say about this.

If that did happen, well... what should FIFA do? punish the current Argentina side who had nothing to do with that? punish Bilardo who doesn't even do anything by now (correct me if I'm wrong)?
It's not like Brazil would have won anything with that crappy team and even crappier coach... it's a shame, yeah, but we should look into not allowing this to happen in the future rather than looking behind.... just my 2 cents...

Still FIFA should take some action of some sort even if its punishing the people involved. Shouldnt the federation be punished? I think so. You just cant go around doing things like this IN A WORLD CUP MATCH.

Its not like this was a mistake. And as Tiagosoares said there is a world cup history here. Are they gonna do this again? Can they just always get away with this????????????????????

Am I going nuts, or does this not just make sense?

How would they punish the argentinean federation? Take them out of the next world cup? players like Tevez and Mascherano who were just kids at that time can't be punished for something they didn't do... I do agree they can't just get away with this, I just fail to see how to punish them...
As for the history in World Cup... well... Garrincha was sent off in the semifinals in Chile'62... but he did play the final match... and Pele putting Brazil against Turkey, China and Costa Rica could be suspicious... Rattin in 66 was sent off for what exactly against Germany? and Germany's penalty in the '90 finals? or Italy and Spain being robbed against South Korea?
It's not just the argies.... **** happens and in World Cup it ain't different

Bilardo admits that he ordered the doping of Brazilian players in the World Cup of 1990

A new scandal has surfaced in the world of football in general and the argentinian national team in particular

Football fans possibly remember the images of Carlos Bilardo, then Sevilla's manager, visibly upset when his team's trainer aided a rival player. It didnt look any good, but the revelation made public now, does not stand far behind.

The manager has admitted in an interview to an argentinian local magazine "Veintitrés" that he ordered to the doping of Brazilian players during a match in 1990 between Argentina and Brazil when he was Argentina's national team manager. The match ended with 1-0 win for Argentina thanks to a Cannigia goal. Bilardo has admitted that he ordered trainer Miguel di Lorenzo to put tranquilizers in a water bottle that he gave the brazilian players.

The trainer took advantage when he came out to assist Maradona and he then gave the water to the players amongst them, defender Branco. Oddly enough, this player admitted at the time that shortly after drinking the water he started feeling bad. Recently, Maradona also admitted that some rival players drank some sort of fluid that contained drugs.

Seriously, if Rojas and Chile were banned because of a simple faked cut in the head, Argentina should be banned for a few years aswell considering this 10x than the Rojas incident.

Well they found out about Rojas the minute after the incident happen so they could punish them and not be unfair... but what should we do now? suspend the argie physio, Bilardo and Maradona? would've worked if they found that out during the world cup or after a month or two... but it's 15 years ago now...

FIFA can't say aswell that this is a normal thing, and nothing will happen. I expect at least some rude words from Blatter.

But NOTHING will happen, the president of the AFA (Argentina Soccer Fereration) is the vice-president of FIFA. Isn't he?

FIFA will say they're working to ensure this won't happen anymore and that's the least they can do... but I'm not sure it'll happen... Bilardo denied knowing anything in an interview to brazilian tv... there are no proofs or anything...
I have no idea about the argie being vice president... there was an argie as vice pres when Havelange was the president, now I don't know...

Or they will sign a big contract with Coca-Cola and forbid teams to take their own water bootles to the pitch! :D
