I don't doubt he's tried the game before, but it's unlikely he has much time to sit around and play PS2 -- if he did, it probably wouldn't be a footy game.

In any event, it'd be a good ad campaign for Konami: "What footy game does FIFA cover boy Henry play? WE -- of course" -- type of thing.

Actually, the ad should have a shot of Henry, Del Piero and Ronaldhino playing WE.

below is a real (quite old but real) news, not just a rumour like that above ("Yaa last night I talked with Zidane manager, he told me Zizou with Becks play PES before matches often" blah blah...)

Premier League's leading strikers has confessed of his love for Konami's beautiful game. Writing in the diary section of his icons.com website, Newcastle striker Shola Ameobi said: "While I've been out injured I've had plenty of time to play on my PlayStation 2 which has been good fun. I got Pro Evolution Soccer 3 just before Christmas and I haveve to say it's a fantastic game. It's very realistic and I've never really liked football games before, but this one is excellent. Unfortunately, I'm not very good at it yet, and I've been getting thrashed by everyone that has given me a game. I suppose it gives me good excuse to practice anyway!" Going by how Shola rates himself on the virtual pitch, it sounds like a few of you out there would have a good chance of scoring against the premiership footballer.

Hi guys, all professional players know that PES3 is greater than FIFA.
I've seen in Paris Ronaldinho, Mexes, Didier Drogba. And I've seen on TV lot of Brazilean players playin PES3 ;)

Konami should definitely have star players endorse their games. WE/PES two big markets are Japan and Europe. Though China is also a huge potential market. WE games will do well in Japan without the need of a famous player endorsement. Zico is fine in Japan. But in Europe and the Americas, having a current famous player on the cover will do wonder. Publicity and sales goes hand in hand. Having players involved in the process of making the game will also benefit the developers. They can add personal inputs and insights that the developer may not know or thought of. Thus enhancing a realistic representation of the sports. It's too bad KONAMI have not figure that out yet. What does it cost to get a player on the cover?
