Hisashi, how can you not believe on everything your church says? It's pretty much all or nothing with religion. You can't say you believe some parts of it, but not others, otherwise you're not even Christian, you're some made up Hisashi religion.

I m not making my own religion ok. You see I m a christian(roman catholic) I believe most of the things my religion says cause I know it is true and it is right . I believe that GOD is real his the creator of heaven and earth the most powerful being in the universe .I believe in Jesus son of GOD our saviour I believe that commiting sins is a bad thing do, and should be avoided as much as possible. I believe in everything else but what I dont believe is that praising idols or praying infront of them cause its againts the ten commandments

There is no image we can create that can accurately portray God. To make an idol to represent God is to worship a false god.

As for the rest of your post, I disagree. Religion's change because humans either disprove different aspects, or want to change aspects for personal reasons (divorce, sex before marriage, to name just two). We've not had a Christian prophet in thousands of years, yet the religion is changing from what God apparently declared it should be all those years ago.

I'm a very peaceful being, and a very thoughtful one, but it has nothing to do with religion. 99% of religious people are blind followers. Followers of a Christian sect they were likely born into, or swayed into through somebody who they leaned on in a time of need.

Religion starts loss more wars than it stops, so not sure how you can claim it creates peaceful beings at all.

Having faith in your beliefs doesn't bring you morality, being a good person does. Religion can sometimes be a good aid to being a good person. In many religions, the basic rules are good general morals to live by. But that's just what they are. You shouldn't need a good to want to be a good person.

I also think that you're not speaking about the same thing Hisashi is, and I believe I am. The difference is Hisashi isn't simply re-interpreting part of the bible, but choosing to ignore it as he doesn't agree with it. That is not religion. That's NOT believing in the God that you claim you do, as it clearly states what that good expects.

Hisashi I am confused by your post though. Are you saying you don't believe in the commandment about worshipping false idols? As in you think that's ok? If so, that's exactly my point. The ten commandments are basically the founding principles of Christianity, yet Hisashi decides he'll only follow 9 of them? Definitions, translations etc will always change (often because people need to change their religion as science proves different parts wrong), but in this case, Hisashi is simply discarding one because he doesn't believe it. How can you believe such a core part of the religion? The only thing religion has going for it is faith. There is no evidence, just faith. You discard part of it, the rest crumbles.

I'm not christian, my only god is the Dark Lord Tar-Mairon, I just took some buddhist and Einstein thoughts about religion, because I share that point of view but my aim is to tell you that there are some positive things about religion if you use it correctly. Maybe nobody understands this because I've really never been able to express myself correctly, only with people like me, nihilists and existentialists mostly. and I wasn't saying religion is the only way to achieve peacefulness and clairvoyance, it's only one of the paths and it shouldn't be discredited...

Mine, essentially, is the same as Aristotle and Nietzsche's, the knowledge is the way to hapiness(crazyness), I try to be as open-minded as possible, trying to understand everyone else, and trying to see how right and wrong they can be. There used to be a time when I thought The Myth of Sisyphus was the phylosophy everyone should follow but I was wrong, you must accept everyone, even when they're against you.

I didn't like that other post because there are some people that could be really offended by that and it's simply not right to make fun of something that is so important to someone.

And to finish, you can't simply believe what bible says, there were 1000 years when Church did whatever they wanted with it with their own dark purposes to control mindless medieval people, I find more accuracy in the Caballo de Troya saga; but of course, there must be some kind of veracity in it, but it's not reliable which part.

Aside from that, I get the impression that Hisashi comes from a well off background (well, for Filipino standards) so wealth management shouldn't be too big of a deal for him. Obviously you're not going to invest straight away at 13, but it's never too early to start learning basic investment concepts! Like CarlosDanger, I wish I learnt more before turning 21 too. Money should never be your prime focus in life, but setting up your investments correctly allows you not to worry about it and let the money roll in effortlessly.

Just be you, respect others, don't backstab, try not to be too arrogant and you'll be fine for the next few years. I think we can bump this thread about girls (or boys) later by then...

Spot on though. I've been thinking about all sepak said and still think it's compete bollocks. Religion causes more conflict than fixes them. You shouldn't need the threat of a bad after life, or some divine being to make you a good person. Those decisions can be made on your own (just as Hisashi currently discards parts of his own religion already anyway).
