The Wolf - Platinum FM2005 Option File - PES4 & WE8:I

With the help of a couple of guys on PESFan, I'm updating starting line-ups for the teams in the game with reference to the last 3-4 games the teams have played in real life in regular league play.

Also, I'm going through the appearance threads on PESFan and elsewhere where they've updated about 300 faces in the game. I'm going to correct all of these too.

Also, there are a lot of players in the game who I don't have the correct shoe allocation for who just have generic black shoes. I'm going to update these to have at least one of the good looking brands of shoe to improve the visuals.

This will probably take about a week to complete (not least because the facial updates can take some time).

The option file will be released for WE8:I and PES4 with a mini-patch to apply with AFS Explorer so the para_we8.bin auto updates itself.

There may be a few other small updates in there between now and next week if I see something that definitely needs changing. Some of the supporters flags need tidying a little and I may work on those if I get time.

p.s. If there were any glaring errors in the Gold option file or subsequent update patch 1, please let me know on this thread. Don't wait until it's released and then tell me you've got something that needs changing. If you've got the 2005 patch and update patch 1 for WE8:I or PES4 then you've got the base files I'm working from.

Dumb requests will be ignored as usual and by that I mean asking me to take out teams and replace them with another team or inserting the 3rd greatest stadium in India into the game. If you want to personalize it for your own benefit then do it yourself, this is supposed to be about updating for everybodys benefit.

I forgot to mention, updates to kickers, corners takers, PK takers etc. would be cool. The dutch league is undergoing a complete redo but I have the data for that.

For Scoham, I am redoing the Charlton positions again which got a little out of sync with the last database update and for the other guy who let me know about Stankovic being duplicated, he's being sorted out.

I'm not redoing stats though just because for example somebody thinks Beckham should be better at free kicks. If your good at them in the game you can score! I played as England the other day in the World Cup and scored 4 free kicks with him in 6 games from about 12 attempts so I hardly think he's been turned into a gimp just because there are other players who have higher dead ball ratings than him.

That's awsome news, thanks Wolf. You think you could do same thing with National Teams. I could give you Iran's if you want. I think you should make a thread and have people sign up as a team in the game and whenver you need info on that team you ask those ppl to come and give you the info.

Some things that should be corrected:
Again, it's not "Copa Libertadores", it's "Copa America". The symbol you used was from Libertadores, Copa America has a diferent simbol.
Robinho should be in the Brazilian Squad, and Julio Cesar as well. The Brazilian Squad only has one goal keeper...
And I know you said this was a stupid request, but I think you should consider replacing Cruzeiro for Corinthians or Santos, simply because Cruzeiro is again a normal Brazilian Club (meaning if you want it to be right it will require a weekly update, brazilian teams are like this, players come and go weekly) and Corinthians and Santos both have seatled teams, that most people in Europe should want to play wich players like Robinho or Tevez.

And you will problably ignore this, but I think you should have in mind for a future patch:
Free Kick stats are wrong, not only for Beckham...you are a perfecionist and I know you don't think like "if you are good you can do it even wich 60 FK", if your thinking was like this you woldn't even have made the FM patch in the first place, since you can do everything wich a lousy player as you can do it wich a good player...
The FK stats are wrong, Mihaljlovic has like 83 free kick, he is one of the top free kick scorers in the World, and Ronaldo (the striker) who doesn't take a Free Kick in like 5 years has 93, and worst Kaká who NEVER in his life took a Free Kick has 87 and 90 Curling.
I only use your Option File, I only want this to be better.
And the convertion method used for Free Kick, Curling and Shot Pwr aren't sincronized wich the reality of the game and wich real life.

Also I have one question. You will use does great faces like Davidian, etc, and uploading the 0_text wich them or you will be doing them in the game, and just release the option file?

yup...u r rite....ronaldo could have over 80 freekick accuracy but not curling......

beckham should have full in curling but not over 95 in accuracy.....

Mihaljlovic should have full accuracy and not over 95 curling....because he is even better kicker than beckham....

Robinho should be on now.........

shevchenko is way too fast....

ronaldo is way too over rated.....

I think MOST of the stats are really good, for exemple.
It puts old players that are displaying poor football (like Del Piero, Vieri, Raul...) wich fair stats, like low mobility and fair scoring abilities, on the other hand it puts young players who are displaying superb football wich great stats (like Robben, Tevez, Mascherano, Robinho problably has great stats in FM Database).
But the Stats have some small problems that should be corrected. After playing this Patch, I can't go back to the original WE stats, because they really are unfair wich the players I see every day doing great things like Robben, he had terrible stats and now he is great, and Reyes, Cassano, and overrate old players who are not on their prime, and have stats that are no longer true...
But some things like the Shot Pwr issue and the FKs and Curling issues take some of the bright of the patch...
I think Shot Pwr is too crazy in a lot of players too...
Shot Pwr is not only for out of the box shots, wich a more powerfull shot it's harder for the keeper to intercept the ball at close range too.

even some 2nd class players have better offense points than him, how come?
it makes him very week, i can never get him running off opponent's defenders anymore

Ok,

1 - If I should be using the Copa America symbol then point me to a decent graphic of it so I don't have to search one down. Even if I find one, I don't want to be using the wrong one. Point me in the right direction of one and I'll update it.
2 - If there are players who should be on a national squad but aren't then you need to tell me the players they should replace otherwise who on earth do I know who to take out??? Same thing with the lone goalkeeper, who should go in there and who do they replace?
3 - I won't be replacing anymore teams.
4 - Beckham has a 90 for free kick accuracy. Once again, people believe that 0 = can't even kick the ball and 99 = will score every time. The scale that is used means the difference between 90 and 99 is so minimal that it's almost impossible to tell the difference unless you're own technique is perfect in performing them with the joypad. If you're so perfect you can notice the difference between aq 90 and a 99 then you should be scoring more often than not with a 90. I can force the goalkeeper into a save almost every time with Beckham or I score a goal! Percentage wise it's no difference if I move him up to a 99. The only difference occurs is if I drop him below a 75 because his other stats such as technique and shot power are good enough to comensate. To say stats are worng when they are simply "different" to how you would rate them isn't a good enough basis for me to change them.


Anyway, thanks for all the feedback. If you can give me the Brazil info, i.e. who should replace who then I'll make that happen for you as well as the Copa America if you can find me the correct logo to use.

If you give me a list of the Iranian players who are on the national squad (full names and dates of birth), the formation and the starting line up I'll change it to exactly how you want.

The offense/defense number doesn't make a player good or bad at either offense or defense. It means a propensity to one or the other. Giggs often plays quite defensive on the wing in terms of making tackles and obviously quite offensive when he gets the ball in some space. So, a 68 offense for him and a 62 defense are actually accurate for somebody who is still officially a left midfielder rather than a wing forward.

So let me get this straight:
- Shevchenko who is reknowned as one of the fastest players in Europe is too fast at 96 rating!
- Ronaldo who is still held widely as one of the top three players in the world is overrated despite having most of his stats around the 90 mark. (And if you're talking about Critiano Ronaldo, most of his stats are in the 80's!)
- Robinho is on none of the squads in the game but he should be in there regardless!
- You want to shift Mihaljlovic to the best free kick taker in the game despite nobody other than you mentioning he is the best in the world at free kicks!


Er, other than the addition of Robinho, I think I'll pass on the other suggestions thanks!

I'm looking for errors to correct not one persons unique opinions of who the best players in Europe are despite nobody else being aware of the fact and how the widely recognised best rated players in Europe are actually secretly crap but only he knows about it!

Totti is best free kick taker and i'm sure many would agree. I think we should stick to have everything as it is. Don't let your patches get affected by one's opinion. Only if over 15 ppl mentioned something then you should change it maybe. That's all.

Wolf I am on your side and am all for unbiased FM2005 stats without intervention. Having said that, I'm guessing that the stats isn't the problem but the CONVERSION of it needs tweaking. That is probably up to Yannick to do. And I'm sure you are the best person to influence him
