We lost but it's not like we didn't try to win the game or anything, one of their players just had a great individual goal that we could do nothing about and well it was in the 85th minute so yeah...A loss is a loss and it still sucks but we're through to the last 16 again, two years in a row and this year we have Rapid another Romanian team joining us. This has been a great year for Romanian football clubwise (Y)

PS: Romania has the highest coefficient of any country this year :o

Congrats, having two Romanian team in the quarter-fiansl is a great achievement. (Y)

btw. it's ridiculous that Uefa Cup wins count as much as wins in the CL. You can't compare the level of competition. The Uefa's gotta do something about it.

Steaua you think you guys are gonna be able to eliminate Betis?

If we take the game seriously I don't see why not. Betis are second to last in Spain and we just got done eliminating the 4th best team in Holland. It's a disadvantage for us though that we have to play the first leg home.

Is it known yet which teams will play each other or is there a draw? At the end of last round people knew immediately. Is there a bracket or something?

BTW, good luck to Bucarest, go out there and get Betis out of this tournament.

Do you know where I might find highlights? As you might know, Sevilla FC and Real Betis have a huge rivalry and this is a big boost to Sevilla to advance farther than Betis, especially in this fashion.

Teams in the draw tomorrow:

Steaua
Rapid Bucharest
Middlesborough
Basel
Zenit
Schalke
Levski Sofia
Sevilla

This is so amazingly wide open. Hard as hell to bet on these games. I hope that Steaua and Rapid don't meet in the quarters, semis sound better (H)

I have been hearing different versions of whether two teams from the same country can meet in the quarters. I am almost sure they cannot. And thanks to Steaua for eliminating the scum club.

what an AWESOME performance from Steaua last night. Before the match my only concern was to get past Betis, i didn't care much about who'd we face in the quarters or if we get through, having 2 teams in the quarters seemed like a decent achievement for romanian football.

Now all the big-named teams are out (Roma, Marseille, Hamburg :p etc), the tournament seems extremely balanced and our dreams are now in reaching distance.

I don't really care about the draw today, i wouldn't be that sad if Rapid and Steaua meet, hey, at least we'd get a team in the semi's :D. I wouldn't want Rapid to get Schalke and Steaua - Sevilla, a little variation wouldn't hurt :)

On another note, i felt sorry for Betis and Joaquin last night, nice team and a world class player, i really hope they'll stay in Primera Division.

No teams will be seeded, and clubs from the same national associations can be paired with each other - something that could affect Bucharest neighbours Rapid and Steaua.

If you draw Sevilla I guarantee it will be a different story. I can't promise that Sevilla would win but I think you would see a whole different class of team. We are contending for a Champions League spot while Betis is flirting with relegation. Best of luck to everybody, I hope Sevilla (makes) meets Rapid or Steaua in the final.
