The UEFA Champions League 2010/11 Thread

Let's do this.

For some reason that picture reminds me of the Prince of Egypt movie, with Cesc being Moses...and we all know how that ended.

Dude, he hugged pretty much every single team-mate he had. Have you ever scored a goal? One time I took the final penalty on the final of a tournament my team were playing, I scored and started running towards the (obviously) empty stand, to the other side of where my goalkeeper was, I just had no idea; you just want to jump and shout and run! Then I turned back and saw all my mates running towards me and jumped and shouted and partied with them. And in no way does it compare to what Crouch must have felt. Take another look at the goal, the way he bends his body to kick it just makes him diverge to his left and then he just kept running, celebrating. He threw his arms up a bit and then started hugging Ekoto and pointed towards Lennon.

What the hell are you talking about?
Yes, but when you scored that penalty, at least it was a solo play. You weren't gifted a goal by your teammate.

What I'm talking about is:
1) Running away from his teammates.
2) Holding his arms wide and blowing kisses
3) Continuing to blow kisses after hugging his teammates

He is basking in the spotlight, and likewise it is his face that is in all of the newspapers and sports websites.

I do agree with you though, it is probably just due to his excitement. I'm being picky.

Execellent match! Probably the best result for a neutral fan to watch the 2nd leg. Congrats Gunners! You were the deserved winners today! That's how you win a Champions League match with Barcelona!

Epic win for Arsenal. I'm rooting for Barcelona, but I'm happy to see Wenger and co enjoy some success. I had to go to class at the 65', and I went feeling that Barcelona had things pretty well under control, but Arsenal proved me (and admit it, just about everybody here) wrong. They've proven that they are up to the task, but I still don't see Barcelona falling at the Camp Nou.

One thing is for sure, the rematch in three weeks is going to awesome.

The win wasn't surprising if you consider the second half and the fact that it was at the Emirates. If you consider they were 1-0 down against Barça, it gets a bit surprising, yes.

The second goal is the reason I prefer Arsenal's style of play to Barça's.

But yeah, I think it's difficult for them to still make it through with Barça's away goal. Even so, great game from the Gunners.

Yes, I missed most of that second half. Before that Barcelona had far more chances on goal and the lead and I kind of figured game set match. My bad.

I can't wait to watch the rest on my DVR. I've always like Arsenal and Wenger since they picked up Reyes (my favorite player at the time). Still rooting for Barca in the second leg though.

Realistically it's still very much Barça who are going through. Last night was incredible though, but I don't think Arsenal can pull off what they did in the second half in all 90 minutes at the Camp Nou.

It would be fun if the don't score in the early stages of the game. Arse will start believing and barca will start feeling nervous. Should be a great game.

That does seem odd. Normally they go with the English team for viewership, but Madrid probably has more fans than Chelsea and it's clearly a much better game.
