Rinaldo - I replaced my audio.big with the one from my CD and found no change. I now have no commentary at all. I paused the game once and on restarting I had commentary for about 5 seconds. The next match I started had a repeated commentary about hitting the post when normally they're talking about the teams etc. once the game started I had no commentary.

Just a quick update I replaced my audio_dat.big file as well and now I'm back to square one. At least I have my commentary back. And I don't care if Pato's name isn't mentioned

audio_dat.big does not exist, which file do you mean ? dat_eng.big ?

Your amazing tool is compatible with the FIFA 08 files of the Xbox360 version?

I want extract some special "words" from the commentary

I know: the audio files for this version of FIFA are similar to FIFA08 for PC/PS2

In my hd i have some folders like this:

audiodata/speech/ with speech_dat.big, speech_hdr.big, speech_sth.big

How i can open .Big files? BIG Gui i think is old

Try File Master 08, btw BIG Gui should still work.

we have imported new sounds to game for new players, we've been able to put the sounds in game source but during game play the reporter does not say the names.
e.g. : we created a goalkeeper named Buffon, but as he plays the reporter does not call his name.
what is your sugestion?

I made speech for Pato as a 'test' but when I played a game his name was mentioned once and he touched the ball heaps. Is there anything else to be edited so the name is said more often. I added basic speech, just his name, no additional speech i.e 'goal by' type stuff. I just want the game to say his name if he touches the ball.

Could you please upload those files for me,i would really like to hear his name ingame.

I am having a similar problem as Ashman23. But in my case I didn't create the speech, the speech is there. The player is Katsouranis of Greece. The speech does not get played when he touches the ball. What can I do to hear his name mentioned?

You should edit the files mix_lrgfull_eng.ini and other similar files in audio.big, they have the following strings you can play with

SFX_PLAYER_CALLS_FREQUENCY = 300
SFX_PLAYER_CALL_INPLAY_CHANCE_PER_ATTEMPT = 50
SFX_PLAYER_CALL_OUTPLAY_CHANCE_PER_ATTEMPT = 70

Suggested values:
SFX_PLAYER_CALLS_FREQUENCY = 50
SFX_PLAYER_CALL_INPLAY_CHANCE_PER_ATTEMPT = 90
SFX_PLAYER_CALL_OUTPLAY_CHANCE_PER_ATTEMPT = 90

Use File master 08 to import\export those files and edit them with notepad.

I tried this suggestion and still the speech for Katsouranis of Greece never gets heard. Any ideas?

the goalkeeper names are no called in game by ball touch like by players, the name what u exported should working. try import and than play from this a few names here and visit this discussion if want http://www.soccergaming.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15219
i tried out the katsouranis and really it does not work ,so i made new katsouranis but with 2 speech and so now i can hear the name. my advice is make new speech names ,orl here you are the new katsouranis download link http://files.filefront.com/new+katsouranisrar/;10132877;/fileinfo.html

1.i do not know, simply i thing the sample_0 is called very rarely or never if the name is very long and sample_1 is called more often, but its only my mind. 2.with sound master 08, visit this forum there is more about it

I don't think so. You have to "bribe" the tool because it is looking for FIFA 08 folder and FIFA 08 database. But if you change the names of your Euro 2008 database and you use the browse button to select the Euro 2008 folder maybe it works.

yes , its very simply you have to rename CProgram Files\EA SPORTS\UEFA EURO 2008\data\cmn\dbase.db to fifa08.db

did you use the browse button to select the Euro 2008 folder by SM08 commentary opening?
