Nice one Jon^Von, you are absolutely spot on!!!! The main aim of football, I thought, is to win is by SCORING!!!.... yes scoring. All you guys who keep saying "I found the best way to score is to blah, blah, blah!!!" are just talking total BOLLOCKS!!!
Their is no denying it, the SHOOTING & SCORING is PAINFULLY HARD, its like riding a unicycle WITHOUT a SEAT! It needs SORTING!!!

I know people have found certain faults in the games AI which enable you to score everytime IF.. and only IF you do the same thing in every build up. SORRY BUT THAT 'AINT FOOTBALL. THATS JUST PLAIN BORING!!

Oh yeah and by the way, it ain't 'cos I'm ****!! at the game that I don't score often, as some have already noted, its 'cos they won't admit that the shooting is total ****!!!!! Its like the goalie is a MAGNET and the ball is made of METAL. Am I right???? I think I am!

I wouldn't say that shooting is crap.
you are certainly right that sometimes your players shoot directly on the goal keeper. but have you never watched a real soccer game? very often (just like in UC) players shoot directly on the goal keeper and you sitting in front of your TV scream "what the ****! why didnt he shoot in the right lower corner?!" you know what I'm saying?
also as you might have noticed players only **** their shots up if they are shooting with their weak foot. so the footedness maybe has some influence on the shot. I'm not sure about that anyways. I like the game pretty much. I think scoring is okay. mostly my scores are 3-3, 3-4,4-5 or something...definitely too many goals. needs some tweaking, UC team.

Well, its not thats its TOO HARD to score goals, its the fact that scoring methods are either unreliable and/or scripted.

I dont even play anymore because the Fifa-like gameplay is such that if you MUST score, or want to score alot, you simply have to follow a set technique. Although you wont score every time, if you do just that, you will score a number of times.

The problem is, try anything different, and the lack of real player control stuffs it up. The ball doesnt go where you tell it to, your player takes too long on the ball and your other team members seem to just watch the ball roll past their feet without doing anything.

This is what causes such a high frustration factor. The fact that you have very little control over players, and what control you do have is scripted, slow and unresponsive.

Scoring is so-so. Player control is what really sux about this game. Its about the same if not worse than Fifa.

I agree Requiem, well said.
Be good if the UC team listens to this and does something about it, I dont hold alot of hope tho.
I heard some1 say that they are now "too busy" hmmmm
well I know I am too busy with ISS2 , so that's ok :D

Yea, I just dont understand why game makers STILL persist on making your selected player follow scripted or computer controlled paths.

When you select a player on the field, they should do NOTHING until you tell it to.

N O T H I N G ! ! ! !

And when you press ANY key at ANY time the player should do EXACTLY as you tell it to.

Doesnt matter if its a goal kick, throw in, anything. If I press slide-tackle, my selected player should SLIDE-TACKLE no matter where he is or what the outcome!

If I press the RIGHT arrow key, he should run in that direction, NO MATTER WHAT!

Does any of this happen now?
Absolutely not.

Even Fifa2001 gives you more control over your players than UC, and thats pretty bad.

Requiem ur comments about the gameplay are spot on - U certainly wud be a better game consultant than the UC consultant(s) currently in charge of gameplay issues.
Cos if these gameplay issues were seriously dealt with ONLY then will UC approach the Class of ISS :D
