But Fallout 3 is a FPS?

If you like the GTA games, you could try Red Dead Redemption. It's good (not as good as GTA) and like a western era GTA.

Elders Scroll Skyrim is a good third person fantasy/adventure game, but not sure you're into that?

If it's been 5 years, LA Noire may be worth a look too. It's good, with the negative being that it can feel a little scripted at times.

For pick up fun, try the Little Big Planet games.

For some reason I was tracking the Fallout games are Third Person.

I have Red Dead Redemption.

They are. You can switch between perspectives like in Skyrim. It's an RPG.

Oh cool. I'd only seen screenshots from when people were actually shooting etc in first person. That's why I didn't get them. I hate FPS on consoles. All about mouse and keyboard.

Games are so cheap in my country, steam sales look so appetizing, they know we are poor.

I've been absolutely obsessed with Hearts of Iron IV lately. Here's something I did with Germany by January 1, 1939. The actual outbreak of World War II with the invasion of Poland was September 1, 1939, so to topple the USSR, France, and England that quick is pretty cool.

The sad part was that I still ended up in a war with the USA because the game said fuck me. I didn't have to declare war on Belgium because France and Italy were fighting a war without me as I was finishing off Russia. When that was done I rushed my troops to the French border (and my paratroopers to the shores of the English Channel) and quickly joined their war against the Allies. France wasn't manning the Maginot Line because they were busy with Italy, so I just rolled straight to Paris.

Anyway, so I was mopping up the continent when I get a notification that Luxembourg started a rinky dink faction with no members. Whatever. I declare on Belgium, they join with Romania and Luxembourg, and I proceed to crush them. Then the US intervenes in that war! Assholes.

I should note that the pic is after the capitulation of Belgium, Romania, and Luxembourg and I'm in a war with the USA only at this point. So I guess I took out Britain, France, and USSR sometime around fall of 1938 when the real life partition of Czechoslovakia happened. Safe to say it's a good thing I wasn't actually Hitler.

The key is to time your Soviet invasion for right after Stalin finishes purging his military. If you try to play it cool and go for the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact you're just giving their military time to recover and for another Five Year Plan to really boost their industrial capacity.

Cool game though.

That game looks great, i'll try it

The only bad part is that it's really hard to be a conqueror as a good guy, i.e. not communist or fascist. But I guess that's kind of the point. And the USA starts out as complete shit because of the stupid Great Depression and its isolation, but is the best country by the end of the game. I mean, unless you conquer all of Europe before 1939.

I'm completely addicted to Madden 17. It's the first time I bought the game in a long long time. The graphics and gameplay are great. I'm now playing as a single player I created in the Franchise Mode. His name is Quiver Quackenbush, a speed running back from UCLA. Dude grew up in Beverly Hills and became a college football star at UCLA. He's a total dick, but a hell of a talent. His grandfather is 50's Boston Bruins hockey player Bill Quackenbush.

First season I finished 8-8 with the Miami Dolphins. Quack rushed for around 1400 yards and 16 touchdowns. He also recorded nearly 600 receiving yards. Dolphins narrowly missed the Playoffs, losing a crucial final game vs. the Patriots.

Here are some screenshots (which I took with my phone):

I can't get over the fact of how much non-playing you do in Madden. On defense I feel you just watch most of the time.

Especially with your mode. Sometimes you don't even get the ball on offence! And I'm usually a big fan of "Be a player" modes in sports games.

I think it's really well balanced as a running back. I play 5 minute quarters without an accelerated clock (after calling a play) and I still managed a little over 300 carries, a normal amount for a top caliber RB. On passing plays I also play an important role, I think I had around 35 receptions. I also do kick and punt returns. Plenty of action.

The running game is super fun in Madden 17. They added a lot of moves and you can feel it when a defense is good or poor against the run. Of course your offensive line is important as well. Sometimes it just crumbles in a game against a good team.

Because I play reasonably short quarters the offensive stats of the entire team are a little off compared to the league averages. Tannehill's numbers were quite low, I think around 18 TD's and 2500 yards, but still cool. I also root for others to make plays because I was in an exciting battle for a division title.

The simming is also really well done. When you're not on the field you sim through the game without it feeling like a cheap experience. I went through an entire season in five or six hours I think.

I want to buy a PS4, but anytime I think of it I can't justify paying for it since I have a PS3 collecting dust despite having bought several games to play in my down time.
