Congratulation guys, Madrid were clearly the better team. Although we had some great play in midfield and some beautiful approaches on attack (that were wasted), it always seemed that Sevilla were weathering the barrage of attacks from Madrid. The goals came as no surprise.

Gotta say though, we just played a tough match on Thursday which left Navas, Adriano and Javi Navarro (starters) injured and others fatigued. That's the cost of playing three competitions.

Robinho did not get two yellows for celebrating!! He was carded earlier for arguing with the referee and the second came from taking off his jersey in celebration. There is no controversy here.

Socrates, what's with all the hostility towards the Sevilla players?

EDIT: btw, the goal by Chevanton could turn out to be very important. If Sevilla tie with Madrid on points at the end of the season, the first tiebreaker is head-to-head goal difference. With the 2-1 in Sevilla, and the 3-2 in Madrid, we are tied. The next tie breaker is the goal difference over the whole season, which Sevilla is leading by 6 goals. Also:
1. Awesome goal by Maresca. Almost jizzed my pants when it happened.
2. Excellent performance by Guti. He made it look so easy.

Well most of it was just from being overexcited by the match but I really do hate certain players like Alves, Ocio, Navas and J. Navarro even though they did not play and also your president.. I think bigal explained it pretty well and yes Guti was going down easily last night ( but he does that every game so it's no suprise ) and Robinho usually stays on his feet this season. Also anyone else think that Ramos should have had a penalty? I only saw one replay so maybe it's not enough but it looked like Kanoute put his hand on his shoulder and was pusing Ramos down on that freekick we had? And yea Robinho was booked on 2 sperate occasion's and Beckham's yellow card was also very...weird but the craziest one of all is that Casillas was booked for celebrating with the team??

Oh yea and I forgot to say that Maresca's goal was fantastic, kind of like Zizou's volley. Just unstoppable.

That was NOT a penalty. There was no contact that was out of the ordinary. Ramos flailing his arms and tucking in his legs for the fall led to the Madrid public clamoring for a penalty which is the only reason this is in question.

Also, for the record, Aitor Ocio did not deserve a red card. Here is a highlights reel of the game that clearly shows Aitor's "violence" towards Diarra. He aggressively brushes him off, but there is never any contact to the face, and Diarra playacts to make the ref think he was punched. It's a yellow, but not a red. I don't mind if you hate Ocio, Socrates, but this is a really weak excuse to lash out at him. It's not like he was trying to hurt anyone, which is more than I can say for Cicinho yesterday.

Btw, Luis Fabiano was red carded for repeatedly calling the sideline ref "hijo de puta." What a retard :nape:

O well lets forget about it....we saw a fantastic match yesterday, thats important (not as important as that WE are the winners though ;))....Now lets see what we can make of Espanyol and Zaragoza!!! And not to forget Recreativo!! We have difficult matches, but the most difficult are won!! Barca will slip up against Atletico!! They didnt win against them in years!! Actually Atletico won more!! Lets hope they do us a favour! They even have to win to keep European football in sight!

yeah i have to agree atletico really have our number recently, i think this match is the one that is going to decide la liga, after the sevilla game i dont see madrid loosing any of the rest of the games. i can just hope rijkaard and the barca players know this and came really motivated and concentrated for the atletico game, its funny how inconsistent this season has gone for everybody and still its coming to an end in a really exciting way. :)

It's funny how Barca and Real (obviously not that game against Sevilla, there was a lot of class in that one) have played poorly at times and ridden luck but are first and second. People were always complaining about how Chelsea didn't deserve to be Premiership championships the last two years because they didn't put in big performances but Real and Barca show how good teams always find results regardless of how they perform.

yeah its weird , i can only imagine the midtable teams from la liga are getting very competitive meaning real's and barca's ups and downs, i mean who that hell was sevilla like 2 or 3 years ago, espanyol is also showing they could be the next sevilla, zaragoza also showed they have the juice, i could think this season in la liga there were a lot of revelations i mean theres no coincidence 3 of the 4 semisfinalists of the uefa cup were spanish; midtable clubs even so.

Sorry for the late response here, work was a bitch today.

I won't speak much about the penalty claim as I have only seen one replay but to me it looked like Ramos jumped infront of Kanoute which then lead Kanoute to put his hand on Ramos right shoulder... Not 100% sure if it was a penalty but it did kind of look like one, I might look for another clip of it later on tonight.

I have seen enough clips of it and while there was not full contact from Ocio on Diarra there was intention there, that was more than just a push away. Sorry but you don't throw your make your hand into a fist than thorw it at your opposing player when your trying to aggressively push someone off of you. Even if there was not contact there was intent and that is enough to warrant a red and a throw like that can sting even if it does not connect right. Ocio has to be an idiot to even do that although he did fool the ref but the linesman saw it. You can believe what you like because he is a Sevilla player but that was a stupidass move on his part, did Diarra milk it? Possible although you can see that it did scarth off his face/eye so it does not really look like it. Anyway Robinho and Beckham both got stupid yellow, espeically Becks. Cicinho? You should be happy he played, God he was ******* awful. Puerta raped him and he was consistantly giving the ball to you guys for a good breakaway.

Haha, Fabiano. What a dumbass.

LMAO, looks like Capello is grinning at Juande Ramos. haha.

 You obviously did not see the video. It's not a matter of opinion. Aitor did not throw a punch, he shoved Diarra away with his forearm without any contact to the face. It was aggressive, it was pure frustration, but it was not a punch. That is plain to see.

Madrid already sold out their match against Espanyol. It's nice to see the Madrid public supporting their team again.

iam a bit late but what a awsome match, do people still think we are boring.

every one was great on sunday, socrates why are u having ago at cicinho? i thought he did well, or not as bad as u say he did.

aitor ocio deserved the red card because i think the rules are if u put ur hand on a players face with vilonet intention its a red card.

do people still hate capello? i really think we will be ****ed if he leaves next season.

robinho was shown a straight red card, i didnt see him get a yellow before that and this conferms it.

I did see it after my post, and I still have the same opinion of it. It was a badly thown punch, either way even if it's not a punch it's a red card offsense. You don't thorw your forearm like that at someone's face, it was a stupid move that was out of frustation and he got red carded for it.

Maybe because Cicinho had a bad game ( and his not the only one either ). I would feel a lot better if Ramos played RB for the rest of the games and Torres or Marcelo or RC whoever is fit can play LB. BTW Emerson and Diarra do very well in stop plays but neither can create so that's why we don't look as dangerous when both are out there, hopefully Guti or Gago replaces one of them.

Capello is still **** and it won't matter if he leaves next season, I will miss his luck but nothing else.

In the offical match report Robinho got a yellow 7 mins prior to his goal for complaining to the ref. Than he got his second yellow for his goal celebration ( I ******* hate that rule, let players celebrate the way they want to ).

i remember everyone mention the d'alesandro agression on messi wasnt a red card cause he barely touch him and messi did a lot of playacting; i would think if this was the case it wasnt a red card on ocio either, he didnt even touch him and diarra grab his face like he got acid on it; my opinion on the matter is i really think the linesman got influenced by diarras playacting; but hey then again if playacting was more severe punish, half of sevilla players would not be playing alot of games really. ha, that chevanton goal is gonna cost you. Sevilla will tie you on points behind nr1 Barcelona, Sevilla will thus directly qualify for the CL...

"I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!"

This will be my last post on this issue, I have gone over it enough. It wouldn't have mattered it there was contact or not, there was intent and enough for a red card ( just like D'Allesandro got his red for the intent more than anything else ).

justhammy - Is he non-eu though? Also how much would he cost?

They are pretty pro-Barca, but not nearly as sensationalist as Marca.
