The Real Madrid Thread [2004 - 2005]

Team Captain
Leverkusen can beat any team on a good day. They're a bit inconsistent, though. They trashed Bayern 4-1 two weeks ago and then got defeated against a team like Mainz last weekened.

Real should take care of the two strikers. France and Berbatov play very well toether.

Thanks Vince :)

Our centre-backs will be Samuel and Pavon. They played well together a few weeks ago vs. Wisla Krakow. Bayer will be toughter + it is in Germany.

Real Madrid have never won a game vs Bayern Munich in Germany, but they defeated Bayer Leverkusen (3-2) the last time they played in Germany ;), with R. Carlos scoring 2 goals (H)

All the criticism around Madrid match is an exaggeration, we had near 3 times the occasions of Numancia, in the first half we played very well, and we keep our goal to 0. We were a bit slow in game creation in the second half but thats all.

BTW, Pavon is finally travelling to Germany :)

Just saw it.

Real Madrid didn't play that bad.

We were definately better than Numancia.

The worst part of the match for Real Madrid was the last 15 minutes -- Many chances for Numancia.

I think Raul is not scoring because...

[A] Not scrappy enough.

Playing deep and out of position.

[C] Tries to do too much

He passes very well but he must score if he plans on keeping his spot for much longer.

Zidane and Figo had great matches. Ronaldo was a bit off. Beckham and Helguera did great in the midfield. (Y)

Our defense was relatively strong. I am looking forward to having Walter and Woodie back there though. (H)

6 points out of 6 and no goals allowed is nice. (Y)

We will need a better game to beat Bayer Leverkusen.

LOL

They must be talking about a different Real Madrid team without Ronaldo, Zidane, Figo, RC, Samuel, Cassilas, and Morientes. That is just pathetic

Right, they just choosed one of our 5 galacticos - on other words, people who gain 6 m € a year - : Beckham, Figo, Zizou, Ronaldo and Raul. And how its logical they selected the english one.

BTW, it seems that Raul could be benched in the game against Leverkussen  : Camacho put together Morientes and Ronaldo in the potential starting 11, in the last training yesterday.
