I wouldn't mind having him around, but he is 28.

We should really go after a younger player though.

I was reading something the other day about how poorly Beckham has been playing and how shortly after his arrival Madrid began to start playing poorly. However, the article actually said something that was interesting about why he and everyone else has been playing so poorly, and they say that instead of the players (i.e.- R. Carlos, Zidane, Raul, Beckham) being rubbish like some of the people here are suggesting, it said that much of it had to do with poor endurance and being tired. This seems to make sense since the first half of Beckham's first season he was quite good and actually moved, which could be down to he was still fit from his days at United (he used to be one of the fittest players in any league). If you see him and players like Raul (who from what I have heard was once very good) now, they do alot of walking around. Beckham looks the lazier, but when you are tired, your skills are the first thing to suffer and this I think may be Raul's problem in front of goal (he has rarely looked dangerous in 2 seasons) and maybe this is Zizou's problem as well. So, like I said, players don' t get this poor this quick, I think that it is fitness (and mental). Do you guys think this is reasonable?

I am especially curious to see what Valioso has to say since he seems mostly neutral and maybe even a little anti-madrid;)

The team is lazy more than tired.
Tired was last season, this seaon its just lazyness. Theyve had enough rest this season, and with this break they have all the more reason to increase performance.

How do you think the new coach will do?
Frankly I think he'll be freakin awesome

Solari is going to Barca in June?! Weird, but ok.....good luck getting any more playing time there.

Oh and I love how the Brazilian media keep claiming Deco as being Brazilian:rockman:

Thats freakin pimp(H)

Yes but i guess he prefered Portugal over Brasil? i dunno Brasil has a way better chance at World Cup glory than portugal but he may have thought he was not good enough for brasil?

Yes, Deco is brazilian, but he couldn't make it as a full international there, so he switched nationalities. I don't think that players should be able to do this just to play for a national team. Jardel, Edu, Alex and lots of others have talked about or done it so they could play international football.

I am actually a little worried about the Lux and Sacchi and Florentino. They all are very strong willed and stubborn people and it may be hard for them to get along if a problem pops up. I do know that Perez buys and sells whoever he wants regardless of how it will alter the team (i.e.- Owen, Makelele), Luxemburgo seems to have trouble keeping a job even when he wins, and some of you may not remember this, but Sacchi is the man who decided to bench Roberto Baggio and only brought him back in when the fans and media demanded it (Baggio saved him as well).

But hopefully it will all work out!!!

I think that the source is a fake from as.com; a way to put some pressure over Florentino so he renew Solari´s contract as soon as possible.

BTW I´m very excited with the Gravesen thing, although he´s 28 he´s phisycally strong enough to be playing till 35 (H)

check out this interview with Luxemburgo from Real Madrid official site. its good and it sounds promising. :)

http://www.realmadrid.com/web_realm...icia.jsp?idnoticia=43983&sec=1&subsec=0&esp=1

and apparently Moro has put his move on hold too see if the new coach wants him in his team.

Fernando waiting for Lux talks

Fernando Morientes will wait to speak to new Real Madrid coach Wanderley Luxemburgo before making a decision on his future.

Morientes was quoted on Liverpool's website as suggesting that he would join The Reds imminently because of his respect for manager Rafa Benitez.

However, the player's agent Gines Carvajal denied that Morientes has said such a thing, and insisted that any decision on leaving Real would wait until discussions with the club's new coach Luxemburgo.

"I can state categorically that Fernando has made no such declaration to either Liverpool's website or to an English newspaper," Caravajal told Radio Marca.

"There is a new coach and we will see what he thinks of the squad.

"I do not believe either the president or the club are going to sell a player without speaking with the new coach."

they are more interested in their business and affairs outside the pitch than in football.

That's really mentaly fatigating.

One thing about the way Madrid has been handled, is that it's become a circus of superstars, who are also human, and who also need rest. Players certainly need to be rested, you cannot play Zidane, Raul, Beckham, etc for every game. Alot of top club managers realize this, but no one in Madrid seems to understand this.

Also remember that all of Madrid's players played in the Euro, and are maybe fatigued.

Luxemburgo would do justice to start doing rotational resting, where he could rest certain players, like Raul, and Zidane, maybe even send them on a week or 2 holiday to unwind a bit, mentally and physically. I can almost guarantee that they will come back rested and healthier, and would hit top form just in time for the crunch time of the season.

I guarantee if luxemburgo gives 1 or 2 weeks hollidays to the star players, he can start thinking of how to explain to Santos president that he wants his job back.

;) :p

madrid supporters would ask for Florentino's head!

You're right. He was just born there.

Also, the only thing Madrid can rotate is their attack IMO.

Lux is doing it to improve his player's morale, not to ruin it, he is doing it improve his player's physique, not to subside it. Madrid's fans have to understand this, I think the Madrid fans are partly to blame, coaches are afraid to do as they please, because fans this and fans that.
