Red Bull dá asas ao Boavista

A multinacional austríaca Red Bull está muito perto de se tornar parceira do Boavista, devendo adquirir em breve uma parte significativa do capital social da SAD do clube axadrezado. Há vários meses que se sabe que o Boavista se encontra em negociações com investidores internacionais - o presidente João Loureiro tem-no repetido amiúde nas suas intervenções -, para encontar uma solução que permita ultrapassar a falta de liquidez da sociedade, sendo que o acordo com a multinacional austríaca de bebidas energéticas está prestes a ser concluído.

João Freitas, director-executivo da SAD axadrezada, não confirmou a parceria com a Red Bull, alegando existir "um acordo de confidencialidade que impede a SAD de fazer quaisquer comentários". Ainda segundo o dirigente, "o Boavista está em negociações há já algum tempo com três grupos internacionais, um europeu, um americano e ainda um de outro continente". João Freitas não quis, contudo, confirmar o nome da Red Bull como potencial investidor.

O que João Freitas garante é que a participação do novo parceiro estratégico na SAD do Boavista não ultrapassará os 27,5% do capital social, mantendo o clube o controlo sobre a sociedade que gere o futebol profissional.

Oficialmente, a Red Bull Portugal também ainda não confirma o acordo, com Susana Prates, responsável pelo departamento de comunicação, a responder através de e-mail "O que lhes podemos dizer, de momento, é que o Boavista é um grande clube português e tem todos os atributos para ser nosso parceiro".

Caso o acordo com a multinacional de bebidas energéticas venha a confirmar-se, será a terceira vez que a empresa do milionário austríaco Dietrich Mateschitz investe num clube de futebol. A Red Bull controla actualmente o FC Red Bull Salzburgo, da Liga austríaca, e o Red Bull New York (ex-NY Metrostars), da Major League Soccer, nos Estados Unidos.

A Red Bull assumiu, em Abril de 2005, o controlo do Salzburgo, que acaba de se sagrar campeão da Áustria e é treinado pelo ex-técnico do Benfica Giovanni Trapattoni. A aquisição da equipa norte-americana aconteceu há pouco mais de um ano (Março de 2006).

A multinacional encontra-se ainda fortemente envolvida na Fórmula 1 e no Campeonato NASCAR. Dietrich Mateschitz tem uma equipa própria na F1, a Red Bull Racing, e metade do capital da escuderia italiana Toro Rosso (ex-Minardi). É também habitual patrocinadora de grandes eventos desportivos.

The three daily sport newspapers say today that Benfica has signed Zoro from Messina. He ends his contract in June or something so he's free to join another club.

I've heard good things about him, but I never saw him play. He's a CB but can also play as a side back, so now atleast we'll have someone to replace Nélson.

It's unbelievable how Benfica had only one RB since January.. Hopefully Nélson will try harder next season with someone trying to take his spot on the team.

Porto and Sporting, congrats for the title, and the second place, to whatever it goes, we'll have to stay in the third, we don't stand a chance, congrats.

It was a good championship this year, but we ended third, congrats.
